他們曾看見他的門徒有人用俗污的手、就是沒有洗的手、喫飯。（原來法利賽人、其實所有的猶太人、都執守着前人的傳統規矩，若不仔細洗手，就不喫；從市場上來，若不洗一洗也不喫：他們所領受而執守的還有許多別的，例如杯、罐、銅器之洗濯等）。這些法利賽人和經學士就詰問耶穌說：『你的門徒為甚麼不照前人的傳統規矩行，卻用俗污的手喫飯呢？』

如各樣洗禮、按手禮、死人復活跟永世處刑、等教訓。

我們就可以用真心、本着堅確的信心、進前去朝拜，心被血灑過、除去邪惡的意識，身體也用清水洗淨過。

當時各條誡命既由摩西按照律法向眾民宣講了，他就拿牛犢山羊的血，用水和朱紅絨跟牛膝草、灑在那書卷上，並且灑在眾民身上，
