耶稣的弟弟们对他说：“你离开这里到犹太去吧，好让你的门徒们也能看到你所做的事。因为人不会又想要出名，又在隐秘中做事。你既然要做这些事，就把自己显明给世人看吧！”原来连他的弟弟们也不信他。

他们一进城，就到他们所住的楼上房间。在那里有彼得、约翰、雅各、安得烈，腓力和多马，巴多罗迈和马太，亚勒腓的儿子雅各、激进派的西门、雅各的儿子犹大。这些人与一些妇女以及耶稣的母亲玛丽亚、耶稣的兄弟们一起，都同心合意地恒切祷告。

难道我们没有权利像其他的使徒，像主的弟弟们，像矶法那样，也带着信主的妻子一同往来吗？

至于其他的使徒，除了主的弟弟雅各，我都没有见过。

这不就是那木匠的儿子吗？他的母亲不是叫玛丽亚吗？他的弟弟们不是雅各、约西、西门和犹大吗？他的妹妹们不是都和我们在一起的吗？那么，他这一切是从哪里来的呢？”

而你——迦百农啊，你将被高举到天上吗？不，你将下到阴间。因为在你中间行过的神迹，如果行在所多玛，它就会存留到今天。

他们上了船，开始渡过湖往迦百农去。原来天色已经黑了，而耶稣还没有来到他们那里。
