As he traveled through Galilee, he came to Cana, where he had turned the water into wine. There was a government official in nearby Capernaum whose son was very sick.

Several of the disciples were there— Simon Peter, Thomas( nicknamed the Twin), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples.

How joyful are those who fear the Lord— all who follow his ways!You will enjoy the fruit of your labor. How joyful and prosperous you will be!Your wife will be like a fruitful grapevine, flourishing within your home. Your children will be like vigorous young olive trees as they sit around your table.That is the Lord’s blessing for those who fear him.

And we are members of his body.As the Scriptures say,“ A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.”This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one.So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

As Jesus was speaking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, asking to speak to him.

Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies.Her husband can trust her, and she will greatly enrich his life.She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.

Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons.These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences are dead.They will say it is wrong to be married and wrong to eat certain foods. But God created those foods to be eaten with thanks by faithful people who know the truth.

Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery.

The man who finds a wife finds a treasure, and he receives favor from the Lord.

The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him,“ Come, follow me.”

So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.Then God blessed them and said,“ Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”

Then the Lord God said,“ It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”So the Lord God formed from the ground all the wild animals and all the birds of the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would call them, and the man chose a name for each one.He gave names to all the livestock, all the birds of the sky, and all the wild animals. But still there was no helper just right for him.So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep. While the man slept, the Lord God took out one of the man’s ribs and closed up the opening.Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib, and he brought her to the man.“ At last!” the man exclaimed.“ This one is bone from my bone, and flesh from my flesh! She will be called‘ woman,’ because she was taken from‘ man.’”This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.Now the man and his wife were both naked, but they felt no shame.

Fathers can give their sons an inheritance of houses and wealth, but only the Lord can give an understanding wife.

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said,“ Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

The following day John was again standing with two of his disciples.
