Later, Joseph of Arimathea asked Pilate for the body of Jesus. Now Joseph was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly because he feared the Jewish leaders. With Pilate’s permission, he came and took the body away.

Later Joseph asked Pilate for Jesus’ body. Joseph was from the town of Arimathea. He was a follower of Jesus. But he followed Jesus secretly because he was afraid of the Jewish leaders. After Pilate gave him permission, Joseph came and took the body away.

After these things Joseph of Arimathea, who was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus, and Pilate gave him permission. So he came and took away his body.

有一个人名叫约瑟，是个议员，为人良善公义，是犹太地亚利马太城的人，一向等候神的国，并不附和众人的计谋和行为。这人去见彼拉多，求领耶稣的身体。他把身体取下来，用细麻布裹好，放在从石头凿出来的坟墓里，这坟墓是从来没有葬过人的。那天是预备日，安息日就要开始，那些从加利利和耶稣一起来的妇女，跟着来了。她们看见了坟墓，和他的身体怎样安葬，就回去预备香料和香膏。安息日，她们遵着诫命安息。

到了晚上，有一个亚利马太的富翁来到，他名叫约瑟，是耶稣的门徒。这个人去见彼拉多，请求领取耶稣的身体，彼拉多就吩咐给他。约瑟领了耶稣的身体，用干净的细麻布裹好，放在自己的新坟墓里，就是在磐石里凿出来的。他辊了一块大石头来挡住墓门，然后才离开。抹大拉的马利亚和另一个马利亚都在那里，对着坟墓坐着。

而且大多数主内的弟兄，因我所受的捆锁，就笃信不疑，毫无畏惧，更勇敢地传讲神的道。

到了晚上，因为是预备日，就是安息日的前一日，一个一向等候神国度的尊贵的议员，亚利马太的约瑟来了，就放胆地进去见彼拉多，求领耶稣的身体。彼拉多惊讶耶稣已经死了，就叫百夫长前来，问他耶稣是不是死了很久。他从百夫长知道了实情以后，就把尸体给了约瑟。约瑟买了细麻布，把耶稣取下，用细麻布裹好，安放在一个从磐石凿出来的坟墓里，又辊过一块石头来挡住墓门。抹大拉的马利亚和约西的母亲马利亚都看见安放他的地方。

但没有人敢公开讲论他，因为怕犹太人。

虽然这样，官长当中也有许多人信了耶稣。但是因为法利赛人的缘故，他们不敢公开承认，免得被赶出会堂；

他的父母这样说，是因为怕犹太人，原来犹太人已经定好了，不论谁承认耶稣是基督，就要把那人赶出会堂。

惧怕人的，必陷入网罗；倚靠耶和华的，必得安全。
