于是，卫兵把耶稣带进总督府的院子，集合了全营的兵。他们给祂穿上紫袍，用荆棘编成王冠戴在祂头上，向祂行礼，并喊着说：“犹太人的王万岁！”他们用苇秆打祂的头，向祂吐唾沫，跪拜祂。戏弄完了，就脱去祂的紫袍，给祂穿上原来的衣服，押祂出去钉十字架。

祂被藐视，遭人厌弃，饱受痛苦，历尽忧患。人们对祂不屑一顾，我们也不尊重祂。

士兵把耶稣押进总督府，叫全营的士兵都聚集在祂周围。他们剥下耶稣的衣服，替祂披上一件朱红色的长袍，用荆棘编成冠冕，戴在祂头上，又拿一根苇秆放在祂右手里，跪在祂跟前戏弄祂，说：“犹太人的王万岁！”然后向祂吐唾沫，拿过苇秆打祂的头。他们戏弄完了，就脱去祂的袍子，给祂穿上原来的衣服，把祂押出去钉十字架。

以色列的救赎主和圣者——耶和华对受藐视、被本国人憎恨、遭官长奴役的那位说：“因为拣选你的以色列的圣者耶和华是信实的，君王必在你面前肃然起立，首领必在你面前俯伏下拜。”

于是，耶稣戴着荆棘冠冕、穿着紫色长袍出来。彼拉多对众人说：“你们看这个人！”

但我好像不是人，只是一条虫，受尽人的羞辱和藐视。

希律和他的卫兵嘲弄侮辱耶稣，给祂穿上华丽的袍子，把祂押回彼拉多那里。
