But this is your hour, and the power of darkness.”

“ Brothers, the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.

For all who take the sword will perish by the sword.Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels?But how then should the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must be so?”At that hour Jesus said to the crowds,“ Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs to capture me? Day after day I sat in the temple teaching, and you did not seize me.But all this has taken place that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.

During supper, when the devil had already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him,

Many bulls encompass me; strong bulls of Bashan surround me;

Seize him and lead him away under guard.”And when he came, he went up to him at once and said,“ Rabbi!” And he kissed him.And they laid hands on him and seized him.But one of those who stood by drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his ear.And Jesus said to them,“ Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs to capture me?Day after day I was with you in the temple teaching, and you did not seize me. But let the Scriptures be fulfilled.”And they all left him and fled.

O Lord, how many are my foes! Many are rising against me;many are saying of my soul,“ There is no salvation for him in God.” Selah

Then after he had taken the morsel, Satan entered into him. Jesus said to him,“ What you are going to do, do quickly.”Now no one at the table knew why he said this to him.Some thought that, because Judas had the moneybag, Jesus was telling him,“ Buy what we need for the feast,” or that he should give something to the poor.So, after receiving the morsel of bread, he immediately went out. And it was night.
