Then the Jewish leaders took Jesus from Caiaphas to the palace of the Roman governor. By now it was early morning, and to avoid ceremonial uncleanness they did not enter the palace, because they wanted to be able to eat the Passover.

They led Jesus therefore from Caiaphas into the Praetorium. It was early, and they themselves didn’t enter into the Praetorium, that they might not be defiled, but might eat the Passover.

時乃備逾越節之日、約日中、彼拉多謂猶太人曰、試觀爾王、

惟爾恃無益之虛詞、攘竊殺戮、行淫妄誓、焚香於巴力、從事素所未識之他神、且詣我寄名之室、立於我前曰、我得釋矣、致爾行此可惡之事、我寄名之室、爾乃視為盜穴乎、耶和華曰、我鑒之矣、

必在耶和華所選寄名之處、獻牛羊於爾上帝耶和華、以為逾越之祭、

蓋彼未行惡則不眠、未傾人則廢寢、

及旦、民之長老、祭司諸長、士子、咸集、曳耶穌至公會、

在耶路撒冷之以色列人、遂大歡樂、守除酵節七日、利未人及祭司、操聲宏之樂器、日頌耶和華、利未人通達耶和華之役事、希西家以善言慰藉之、於是民食節肉、獻酬恩祭、稱謝其列祖之上帝耶和華、凡歷七日、會眾相議更守七日、於是欣然守之、猶大王希西家以牡牛一千、綿羊七千、賜會眾為祭品、牧伯亦賜牡牛一千、綿羊一萬、時、祭司多自潔者、
