Here he is, speaking publicly, and they are not saying a word to him. Have the authorities really concluded that he is the Messiah? (niv)

Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. (niv)

“ Come near me and listen to this:“ From the first announcement I have not spoken in secret; at the time it happens, I am there.” And now the Sovereign Lord has sent me, endowed with his Spirit. (niv)

I have not spoken in secret, from somewhere in a land of darkness; I have not said to Jacob’s descendants,‘ Seek me in vain.’ I, the Lord, speak the truth; I declare what is right. (niv)

In that hour Jesus said to the crowd,“ Am I leading a rebellion, that you have come out with swords and clubs to capture me? Every day I sat in the temple courts teaching, and you did not arrest me. (niv)

“ So if anyone tells you,‘ There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or,‘ Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. (niv)

“ I have much to say in judgment of you. But he who sent me is trustworthy, and what I have heard from him I tell the world.” (niv)

Each day Jesus was teaching at the temple, and each evening he went out to spend the night on the hill called the Mount of Olives, (niv)

At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. (niv)

and Jesus was in the temple courts walking in Solomon’s Colonnade.The Jews who were there gathered around him, saying,“ How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.”Jesus answered,“ I did tell you, but you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify about me,but you do not believe because you are not my sheep.My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.I and the Father are one.”Again his Jewish opponents picked up stones to stone him,but Jesus said to them,“ I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?”“ We are not stoning you for any good work,” they replied,“ but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.”Jesus answered them,“ Is it not written in your Law,‘ I have said you are“ gods”’?If he called them‘ gods,’ to whom the word of God came— and Scripture cannot be set aside—what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said,‘ I am God’s Son’?Do not believe me unless I do the works of my Father.But if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”Again they tried to seize him, but he escaped their grasp. Then Jesus, still teaching in the temple courts, cried out,“ Yes, you know me, and you know where I am from. I am not here on my own authority, but he who sent me is true. You do not know him, (niv)

I will declare your name to my people; in the assembly I will praise you. (niv)

When Jesus entered the temple courts, he began to drive out those who were selling.“ It is written,” he said to them,“‘ My house will be a house of prayer’; but you have made it‘ a den of robbers.’Every day he was teaching at the temple. But the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the leaders among the people were trying to kill him. (niv)

One day as Jesus was teaching the people in the temple courts and proclaiming the good news, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, together with the elders, came up to him.“ Tell us by what authority you are doing these things,” they said.“ Who gave you this authority?”He replied,“ I will also ask you a question. Tell me:John’s baptism— was it from heaven, or of human origin?”They discussed it among themselves and said,“ If we say,‘ From heaven,’ he will ask,‘ Why didn’t you believe him?’But if we say,‘ Of human origin,’ all the people will stone us, because they are persuaded that John was a prophet.”So they answered,“ We don’t know where it was from.”Jesus said,“ Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.” (niv)

Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. (niv)

Not until halfway through the festival did Jesus go up to the temple courts and begin to teach. (niv)

The king is familiar with these things, and I can speak freely to him. I am convinced that none of this has escaped his notice, because it was not done in a corner. (niv)

No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world.” (niv)

He was teaching in their synagogues, and everyone praised him. (niv)

I proclaim your saving acts in the great assembly; I do not seal my lips, Lord, as you know. (niv)

Then the high priest tore his clothes and said,“ He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Look, now you have heard the blasphemy. (niv)

Jesus entered the temple courts, and, while he was teaching, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him.“ By what authority are you doing these things?” they asked.“ And who gave you this authority?”Jesus replied,“ I will also ask you one question. If you answer me, I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things.John’s baptism— where did it come from? Was it from heaven, or of human origin?” They discussed it among themselves and said,“ If we say,‘ From heaven,’ he will ask,‘ Then why didn’t you believe him?’But if we say,‘ Of human origin’— we are afraid of the people, for they all hold that John was a prophet.”So they answered Jesus,“ We don’t know.” Then he said,“ Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.
