Mark 14:55-65
Now the chief priests and the entire Council were trying to obtain testimony against Jesus to put Him to death, and they were not finding any.For many people were giving false testimony against Him, and so their testimonies were not consistent.And then some stood up and began giving false testimony against Him, saying,“ We heard Him say,‘ I will destroy this temple that was made by hands, and in three days I will build another, made without hands.’ ”And not even in this respect was their testimony consistent.And then the high priest stood up and came forward and questioned Jesus, saying,“ Do You not offer any answer for what these men are testifying against You?”But He kept silent and did not offer any answer. Again the high priest was questioning Him, and* said to Him,“ Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?”And Jesus said,“ I am; and you shall see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.”Tearing his clothes, the high priest* said,“ What further need do we have of witnesses?You have heard the blasphemy; how does it seem to you?” And they all condemned Him as deserving of death.And some began to spit on Him, and to blindfold Him, and to beat Him with their fists and say to Him,“ Prophesy!” Then the officers took custody of Him and slapped Him in the face.

When He left that place, the scribes and the Pharisees began to be very hostile and to interrogate Him about many subjects,plotting against Him to catch Him in something He might say.

And so they watched Him closely, and sent spies who pretended to be righteous, in order that they might catch Him in some statement, so that they could hand Him over to the jurisdiction and authority of the governor.

But later on two came forward,and said,“ This man stated,‘ I am able to destroy the temple of God and to rebuild it in three days.’ ”The high priest stood up and said to Him,“ Do You offer no answer for what these men are testifying against You?”But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest said to Him,“ I place You under oath by the living God, to tell us whether You are the Christ, the Son of God.”Jesus* said to him,“ You have said it yourself. But I tell you, from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.”Then the high priest tore his robes and said,“ He has blasphemed! What further need do we have of witnesses? See, you have now heard the blasphemy;what do you think?” They answered,“ He deserves death!”Then they spit in His face and beat Him with their fists; and others slapped Him,and said,“ Prophesy to us, You Christ; who is the one who hit You?”

Luke 22:63-71
The men who were holding Jesus in custody began mocking Him and beating Him,and they blindfolded Him and repeatedly asked Him, saying,“ Prophesy, who is the one who hit You?”And they were saying many other things against Him, blaspheming.When it was day, the Council of elders of the people assembled, both chief priests and scribes, and they led Him away to their council chamber, saying,“ If You are the Christ, tell us.” But He said to them,“ If I tell you, you will not believe;and if I ask a question, you will not answer.But from now on the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.”And they all said,“ So You are the Son of God?” And He said to them,“ You say correctly that I am.”And then they said,“ What further need do we have of testimony? For we have heard it ourselves from His own mouth!”
