拘捕耶穌的人把他帶到大祭司該亞法那裡。經文士們和長老們已經聚集在那裡了。

他們抓住耶穌，把他帶走，押到大祭司的家裡。彼得遠遠地跟著。

一到清晨，祭司長們就與長老們、經文士們以及全議會的人商議對策，然後把耶穌捆起來帶走，交給彼拉多。

在他們想殺保羅的時候，有消息上報到軍團的千夫長，說全耶路撒冷都混亂了。

保羅快要被押進營樓的時候，就對千夫長說：「我是否可以對你說句話？」千夫長說：「你懂希臘語嗎？

他們來到神所指示他的地方，亞伯拉罕在那裡築了一座祭壇，擺好木柴，然後捆綁了他的兒子以撒，把他放在祭壇的木柴上。

他們把耶穌帶到大祭司那裡。所有的祭司長、長老和經文士都聚在一起。

他們把耶穌捆起來帶走，交給總督彼拉多。

千夫長下令把保羅押進營樓，吩咐鞭打拷問他，要了解民眾是因什麼理由向他這樣一直喊叫。當士兵們用皮條捆上保羅的時候，他對站在旁邊的百夫長說：「你們鞭打一個沒有被定罪的羅馬公民，可以嗎？」百夫長聽了，就來到千夫長面前，報告說：「你要做什麼呢？要知道，這個人是羅馬公民。」千夫長就前來問保羅：「告訴我，你是羅馬公民嗎？」保羅說：「是的。」千夫長說：「我花了一大筆錢，才買到了羅馬公民權。」保羅說：「我生下來就是。」

耶和華是神，他照亮我們；你們當用繩索捆住祭牲，帶到壇角。

爭執越來越激烈，千夫長擔心保羅會被他們撕碎，就命令軍隊下去，把保羅從他們當中搶出來，帶回營樓裡。

把他們關到護衛長府中的牢裡，就是約瑟被囚的監獄。

保羅請來了一個百夫長，說：「請帶這年輕人到千夫長那裡，因為他有事要向他報告。」於是百夫長就帶保羅的外甥到千夫長那裡去，說：「囚犯保羅請了我去，求我把這個年輕人帶到你這裡來，他有事要告訴你。」千夫長拉著年輕人的手，退到一邊，悄悄地問他：「你有什麼事要告訴我？」他說：「猶太人已經說好，要請求你明天把保羅帶到議會去，假裝要更詳盡地查問他的事。所以請你不要被他們說服，因為他們中的四十多人正埋伏等著他。他們已經賭咒起誓說，殺掉保羅以前，就不吃不喝。現在他們預備好了，正期望你答應。」千夫長吩咐那年輕人說：「不要對任何人說，你把這些事告訴了我。」於是，就讓他走了。
