旁邊站着的人，有一個拔出刀來，把大祭司的僕人砍了一刀，削掉了他一隻耳朵。

左右的人見了要發生的事，就說：「主啊，我們拿刀砍好不好？」其中有一個人把大祭司的僕人砍了一刀，削掉了他的右耳。耶穌回答說：「算了，住手吧！」就摸那人的耳朵，把他治好了。

忽然，有一個和耶穌一起的人伸手拔出刀來，把大祭司的僕人砍了一刀，削掉了他一隻耳朵。耶穌對他說：「收刀入鞘吧！凡動刀的，必死在刀下。你想我不能求我父，現在為我差遣比十二營還多的天使來嗎？若是這樣，經上所說事情必須如此發生的話怎麼應驗呢？」

大祭司的一個僕人，是被彼得削掉耳朵那人的親屬，說：「我不是看見你同他在園子裏嗎？」

耶穌對他說：「我實在告訴你，今天夜裏，雞叫兩遍以前，你要三次不認我。」

彼得對他說：「主啊，我已準備好要同你坐牢，與你同死。」
