So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.

That’s the way it is with you. Now it’s your time to be sad. But I will see you again. Then you will be full of joy. And no one will take away your joy.

So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.

May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope,

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,

But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.

On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said,“ Peace be with you!”After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.

God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged.

And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them,“ Do you have anything here to eat?”

but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

but few things are needed— or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Therefore, brothers and sisters, in all our distress and persecution we were encouraged about you because of your faith.For now we really live, since you are standing firm in the Lord.How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you?

Jesus went on to say,“ In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me.”

I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me.However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me— the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls,yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.

Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy.

“ But Abraham replied,‘ Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony.

“ For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back.In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you,” says the Lord your Redeemer.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?As it is written:“ For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Those the Lord has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.“ I, even I, am he who comforts you. Who are you that you fear mere mortals, human beings who are but grass,

Do I bring to the moment of birth and not give delivery?” says the Lord.“ Do I close up the womb when I bring to delivery?” says your God.“ Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her, all you who love her; rejoice greatly with her, all you who mourn over her.For you will nurse and be satisfied at her comforting breasts; you will drink deeply and delight in her overflowing abundance.”For this is what the Lord says:“ I will extend peace to her like a river, and the wealth of nations like a flooding stream; you will nurse and be carried on her arm and dandled on her knees.As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem.”When you see this, your heart will rejoice and you will flourish like grass; the hand of the Lord will be made known to his servants, but his fury will be shown to his foes.

Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter,“ It is the Lord!” As soon as Simon Peter heard him say,“ It is the Lord,” he wrapped his outer garment around him( for he had taken it off) and jumped into the water.

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.

The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name.

Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.”With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.In that day you will say:“ Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted.

While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven.Then they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy.And they stayed continually at the temple, praising God.

You suffered along with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions.

So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.

But be glad and rejoice forever in what I will create, for I will create Jerusalem to be a delight and its people a joy.I will rejoice over Jerusalem and take delight in my people; the sound of weeping and of crying will be heard in it no more.

“ Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.

Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says:“ My servants will eat, but you will go hungry; my servants will drink, but you will go thirsty; my servants will rejoice, but you will be put to shame.My servants will sing out of the joy of their hearts, but you will cry out from anguish of heart and wail in brokenness of spirit.

But if he remains silent, who can condemn him? If he hides his face, who can see him? Yet he is over individual and nation alike,

“ He replied,‘ I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what they have will be taken away.
