其實，凡立志在基督耶穌裏敬虔度日的，也都將受迫害。

我實實在在地告訴你們，僕人不大於主人；奉差的人也不大於差他的人。

「學生不高過老師，僕人不高過主人。

以色列家卻不肯聽從你，因為他們不肯聽從我；原來以色列全家是額頭堅硬、心裏剛愎的人。

這些猶太人不但殺了主耶穌和先知們，又把我們趕出去。他們令神不悅，且與眾人為敵，

遭受迫害，卻不被撇棄；擊倒在地，卻不致滅亡。

並且勞碌，親手做工；被人咒罵，我們就祝福；被人迫害，我們就忍受；

我們所傳的有誰信呢？耶和華的膀臂向誰顯露呢？他在耶和華面前生長如嫩芽，像根出於乾地。他無佳形美容使我們注視他，也無美貌使我們仰慕他。他被藐視，被人厭棄；多受痛苦，常經憂患。他被藐視，好像被人掩面不看的一樣，我們也不尊重他。

猶太人又拿起石頭來要打他。

希律和本丟‧彼拉多，同外邦人和以色列民，果然在這城裏聚集，要攻打你所膏的聖僕耶穌，做了你手和你旨意所預定必成就的事。主啊，現在求你鑒察，他們的威嚇，使你僕人放膽講你的道，伸出你的手來，讓醫治、神蹟、奇事藉着你聖僕耶穌的名行出來。」

先知中有哪一個不是受你們祖宗的迫害呢？他們把預先宣告那義者要來的人殺了。如今你們成了那義者的出賣者和兇手了。你們領受了天使所傳佈的律法，竟不遵守。」眾人聽見這些話，心中極其惱怒，向司提反咬牙切齒。但司提反滿有聖靈，定睛望天，看見神的榮耀，又看見耶穌站在神的右邊，就說：「我看見天開了，人子站在神的右邊。」眾人大聲喊叫，摀着耳朵，齊心衝向他，把他推到城外，用石頭打他。作見證的人把他們的衣裳放在一個名叫掃羅的青年腳前。他們正用石頭打司提反的時候，他呼求說：「主耶穌啊，求你接納我的靈魂！」然後他跪下來，大聲喊着：「主啊，不要將這罪歸於他們！」說了這話，就長眠了。

所以猶太人迫害耶穌，因為他在安息日做了這些事。

我實實在在地告訴你們，人若遵守我的道，就永遠不經歷死亡。」

那時，祭司長和法利賽人早已下令，若有人知道耶穌的下落，就要報告，他們好去捉拿他。

於是他們拿石頭要打他，耶穌卻躲開，走出了聖殿。

西面給他們祝福，又對孩子的母親馬利亞說：「這孩子被立，是要叫以色列中許多人跌倒，許多人興起；又要成為毀謗的對象，

法利賽人聽見羣眾對耶穌這樣議論紛紛，祭司長和法利賽人就打發聖殿警衛去捉拿他。

耶和華對撒母耳說：「你只管聽從百姓向你說的一切話，因為他們不是厭棄你，而是厭棄我，不要我作他們的王。

學生不高過老師，凡學成了的會和老師一樣。
