So if I, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.

You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God is opposed to the proud, but He gives grace to the humble.

In everything I showed you that by working hard in this way you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said,‘ It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”

But it is not this way for you; rather, the one who is the greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader like the servant.For who is greater, the one who reclines at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves.

Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because the one who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,

For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love.

Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered.And having been perfected, He became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey Him,

Therefore, if food causes my brother to sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause my brother to sin.

make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility consider one another as more important than yourselves;do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,who, as He already existed in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,but emptied Himself by taking the form of a bond servant and being born in the likeness of men.And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death: death on a cross.

But it is not this way among you; rather, whoever wants to become prominent among you shall be your servant;and whoever wants to be first among you shall be slave of all.For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”

Brothers and sisters, even if a person is caught in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual are to restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you are not tempted as well.Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ.

It is not this way among you, but whoever wants to become prominent among you shall be your servant,and whoever desires to be first among you shall be your slave;just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”

For though I am free from all people, I have made myself a slave to all, so that I may gain more.To the Jews I became as a Jew, so that I might gain Jews; to those who are under the Law, I became as one under the Law, though not being under the Law myself, so that I might gain those who are under the Law;to those who are without the Law, I became as one without the Law, though not being without the law of God but under the law of Christ, so that I might gain those who are without the Law.To the weak I became weak, that I might gain the weak; I have become all things to all people, so that I may by all means save some.

Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength, and not just please ourselves.Each of us is to please his neighbor for his good, to his edification.For even Christ did not please Himself, but as it is written:“ The taunts of those who taunt You have fallen on Me.”

looking only at Jesus, the originator and perfecter of the faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Now I, Paul, myself urge you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ— I who am meek when face to face with you, but bold toward you when absent!

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.

Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation.

Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor,
