Jesus replied,“ Leave her alone. She did this in preparation for my burial.

耶稣就说：“由她吧，这香膏是她留下来为我安葬的日子用的。

耶稣说：“由她吧！她是为我安葬的日子而保存的。

耶穌說：「由她吧！她是為我安葬之日存留的。

耶穌說：「由她吧！她這香膏本是為我的安葬之日留着的。

耶穌說：「由她吧！她這香膏本是為我的安葬之日留着的。

耶穌說：「由她吧！她這是為我安葬作預備。

耶穌就說：“由她吧，這香膏是她留下來為我安葬的日子用的。

耶穌就說：『由她吧！難道要讓她把這東西留着，以備安葬我的日子的用處麼？

耶穌說：「由她吧！她是為我安葬的日子而保存的。

耶穌曰、聽之、俾存之俟我葬日、

耶穌曰、姑聽之、婦藏此膏、備我葬日之用、

耶穌曰、姑聽之、婦藏此膏、為我葬日之用、

耶穌乃曰：『聽之、勿阻！蓋此女子之所為、所以備吾殮也！

“ Leave her alone,” Jesus replied.“ It was intended that she should save this perfume for the day of my burial.

“ Leave her alone,” Jesus replied.“ The perfume was meant for the day I am buried.

Jesus said,“ Leave her alone, so that she may keep it for the day of my burial.

Jesus answered,“ Leave her alone; she has kept it for the day of my burial.

Therefore Jesus said,“ Leave her alone, so that she may keep it for the day of My burial.

But Jesus said,“ Let her alone; she has kept this for the day of My burial.

Jesus therefore said, Suffer her to keep it against the day of my burying.

Jesus answered,“ Leave her alone; she has kept it for the day of My burial.

Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this.

So Jesus said,“ Leave her alone. She has kept it for the day of my burial.

But Jesus said,“ Leave her alone. She has kept this for the day of my burial.

She has poured this perfume on me to prepare my body for burial.

As evening approached, Joseph, a rich man from Arimathea who had become a follower of Jesus,went to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body. And Pilate issued an order to release it to him.Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a long sheet of clean linen cloth.He placed it in his own new tomb, which had been carved out of the rock. Then he rolled a great stone across the entrance and left.

But Jesus, aware of this, replied,“ Why criticize this woman for doing such a good thing to me?

And the Lord said to Satan,“ I, the Lord, reject your accusations, Satan. Yes, the Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebukes you. This man is like a burning stick that has been snatched from the fire.”

This all happened on Friday, the day of preparation, the day before the Sabbath. As evening approached,Joseph of Arimathea took a risk and went to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body.( Joseph was an honored member of the high council, and he was waiting for the Kingdom of God to come.)Pilate couldn’t believe that Jesus was already dead, so he called for the Roman officer and asked if he had died yet.The officer confirmed that Jesus was dead, so Pilate told Joseph he could have the body.Joseph bought a long sheet of linen cloth. Then he took Jesus’ body down from the cross, wrapped it in the cloth, and laid it in a tomb that had been carved out of the rock. Then he rolled a stone in front of the entrance.Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joseph saw where Jesus’ body was laid.

For he stands beside the needy, ready to save them from those who condemn them.

Now there was a good and righteous man named Joseph. He was a member of the Jewish high council,

Afterward Joseph of Arimathea, who had been a secret disciple of Jesus( because he feared the Jewish leaders), asked Pilate for permission to take down Jesus’ body. When Pilate gave permission, Joseph came and took the body away.With him came Nicodemus, the man who had come to Jesus at night. He brought about seventy five pounds of perfumed ointment made from myrrh and aloes.Following Jewish burial custom, they wrapped Jesus’ body with the spices in long sheets of linen cloth.The place of crucifixion was near a garden, where there was a new tomb, never used before.And so, because it was the day of preparation for the Jewish Passover and since the tomb was close at hand, they laid Jesus there.

But Jesus replied,“ Leave her alone. Why criticize her for doing such a good thing to me?
