我们就是这些事的见证人。神所赐给那些顺从他之人的圣灵也一同做见证。”

约翰又见证说：“我看到圣灵好像鸽子从天上降临，停留在他身上。

人们要述说你行可畏之事的大能；我也要讲述你的伟大。他们要传扬你美善至尊的名，也要颂唱你的公义。

看见这事的那人做了见证——他的见证是真实的，并且他知道他所说的是真实的——这是为了要你们也信。

法利赛人对他说：“你为自己做见证，你的见证是无效的。”耶稣回答：“即使我为自己做见证，我的见证也是有效的，因为我知道我从哪里来，往哪里去；而你们却不知道我从哪里来，往哪里去。

“我将从父那里派遣慰助者来，他就是从父而来的真理的灵。他来的时候，将为我做见证。并且你们也要做见证，因为你们从一开始就与我在一起。

有一大群犹太人知道耶稣在那里，就来了。他们不仅是为了耶稣的缘故，也是为了看拉撒路，就是耶稣使他从死人中复活的那个人。

我知道你总是在垂听我，但我这么说，是为了这些站在周围的民众，好让他们相信是你差派了我。”

约翰把神的话语和有关耶稣基督的见证，凡是他所看到的，都见证出来。

我们既然接受人的见证，神的见证就更应该接受了，因为这是神的见证，就是神为他的儿子所做的见证。那信神儿子的，就有这见证在他里面；那不信神的，就把神当做说谎者，因为他不相信神为自己的儿子所做的见证。这见证就是：神把永恒的生命赐给了我们，并且这生命在他儿子里面。那有了神儿子的，就有了这生命；那没有神儿子的，就没有这生命。

来到玛丽亚那里的许多犹太人，看到耶稣所做的事，就信了耶稣。然而，其中有些人到法利赛人那里去，向他们报告耶稣所行的事。

我看到了，就见证：这一位就是神的儿子。”

那些在玛丽亚家里安慰她的犹太人，看见她匆忙起身出去，以为她要到坟墓那里去哭，就跟着她。

以下是约翰的见证。那时候，耶路撒冷的那些犹太人派了一些祭司和利未人到约翰那里去问他：“你是谁？”
