She broke the vial and poured the perfume over His head.But there were some indignantly remarking to one another,“ Why has this perfume been wasted?For this perfume could have been sold for over three hundred denarii, and the money given to the poor.” And they were scolding her.But Jesus said,“ Leave her alone! Why are you bothering her? She has done a good deed for Me.For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you want, you can do good to them; but you do not always have Me.She has done what she could; she has anointed My body beforehand for the burial.

Now a certain man was sick: Lazarus of Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha.

Out came the man who had died, bound hand and foot with wrappings, and his face was wrapped around with a cloth. Jesus* said to them,“ Unbind him, and let him go.”

Now when Jesus was in Bethany, at the home of Simon the Leper,a woman came to Him with an alabaster vial of very expensive perfume, and she poured it on His head as He was reclining at the table.But the disciples were indignant when they saw this, and said,“ Why this waste?For this perfume could have been sold for a high price and the money given to the poor.”But Jesus, aware of this, said to them,“ Why are you bothering the woman? For she has done a good deed for Me.For you always have the poor with you; but you do not always have Me.

And Jesus entered Jerusalem and came into the temple area; and after looking around at everything, He left for Bethany with the twelve, since it was already late.
