After he had said this, he went on to tell them,“ Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going there to wake him up.”

After he said this, Jesus went on speaking to them.“ Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep,” he said.“ But I am going there to wake him up.”

After saying these things, he said to them,“ Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I go to awaken him.”

Then he said,“ Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but now I will go and wake him up.”

He said this, and then he told them,“ Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I’m on my way to wake him up.”

This He said, and after this He* said to them,“ Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going so that I may awaken him from sleep.”

These things He said, and after that He said to them,“ Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that I may wake him up.”

These things spake he: and after this he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus is fallen asleep; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.

He said this, and then He told them,“ Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I’m on My way to wake him up.”

These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.

After he said this, he added,“ Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep. But I am going there to awaken him.”

Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. (niv)

He went in and said to them,“ Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.” (niv)

He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. (niv)

Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— (niv)

and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. (niv)

So the sisters sent word to Jesus,“ Lord, the one you love is sick.” (niv)

The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent. (niv)

Our God, did you not drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel and give it forever to the descendants of Abraham your friend? (niv)

When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice,“ Lazarus, come out!”The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them,“ Take off the grave clothes and let him go.” (niv)

“ But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham my friend, (niv)

Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. (niv)
