Many of them said,“ He is demon-possessed and raving mad. Why listen to him?”

Many of them said,“ He is controlled by a demon. He has gone crazy! Why should we listen to him?”

Some said,“ He’s demon possessed and out of his mind. Why listen to a man like that?”

The multitude answered, Thou hast a demon: who seeketh to kill thee?

But the Pharisees said, By the prince of the demons casteth he out demons.

But when Paul was about to open his mouth, Gallio said unto the Jews, If indeed it were a matter of wrong or of wicked villany, O ye Jews, reason would that I should bear with you:but if they are questions about words and names and your own law, look to it yourselves; I am not minded to be a judge of these matters.

And they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are disciples of Moses.We know that God hath spoken unto Moses: but as for this man, we know not whence he is.

By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who among them considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living for the transgression of my people to whom the stroke was due?

And as he thus made his defence, Festus saith with a loud voice, Paul, thou art mad; thy much learning is turning thee mad.

The officers answered, Never man so spake.The Pharisees therefore answered them, Are ye also led astray?Hath any of the rulers believed on him, or of the Pharisees?But this multitude that knoweth not the law are accursed.Nicodemus saith unto them( he that came to him before, being one of them),Doth our law judge a man, except it first hear from himself and know what he doeth?They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and see that out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.

It is enough for the disciple that he be as his teacher, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more them of his household!

but had certain questions against him of their own religion, and of one Jesus, who was dead, whom Paul affirmed to be alive.And I, being perplexed how to inquire concerning these things, asked whether he would go to Jerusalem and there be judged of these matters.
