as he says also in another place,“ You are a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek.”In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence.Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered.And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him,

For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again.

But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.

Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for guilt, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied; by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make many to be accounted righteous, and he shall bear their iniquities.Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, because he poured out his soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and makes intercession for the transgressors.

but I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us go from here.

Jesus answered them,“ Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”The Jews then said,“ It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?”But he was speaking about the temple of his body.

In sacrifice and offering you have not delighted, but you have given me an open ear. Burnt offering and sin offering you have not required.Then I said,“ Behold, I have come; in the scroll of the book it is written of me:I delight to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.”

For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me.

Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels?But how then should the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must be so?”At that hour Jesus said to the crowds,“ Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs to capture me? Day after day I sat in the temple teaching, and you did not seize me.But all this has taken place that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.

They answered him,“ Jesus of Nazareth.” Jesus said to them,“ I am he.” Judas, who betrayed him, was standing with them.When Jesus said to them,“ I am he,” they drew back and fell to the ground.

who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.

If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.

who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped,but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

and you killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses.

Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil,and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.

in burnt offerings and sin offerings you have taken no pleasure.Then I said,‘ Behold, I have come to do your will, O God, as it is written of me in the scroll of the book.’”When he said above,“ You have neither desired nor taken pleasure in sacrifices and offerings and burnt offerings and sin offerings”( these are offered according to the law),then he added,“ Behold, I have come to do your will.” He does away with the first in order to establish the second.And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it.

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

“ I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.

This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses.

Jesus answered him,“ You would have no authority over me at all unless it had been given you from above. Therefore he who delivered me over to you has the greater sin.”

just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.
