他们就问他说：“你既不是基督，不是以利亚，也不是那先知，为什么施洗呢？”

他们又问约翰：“你既不是基督，又不是以利亚，也不是那位先知，那么，你为什么施洗呢？”

他們就問他說：「你既不是基督，不是以利亞，也不是那先知，為甚麼施洗呢？」

他們就問他：「你既不是基督，不是以利亞，也不是那位先知，那麼，你為甚麼施洗呢？」

他們就問他：「你既不是基督，不是以利亞，也不是那位先知，那麼，你為甚麼施洗呢？」

「你既然不是基督，不是以利亞，也不是那位先知，那你為什麼給人施洗呢？」

他們問約翰：“你既然不是基督，不是以利亞，也不是那位先知，那麼你為甚麼施洗呢？”

他們詰問約翰說：『你既不是上帝所膏立者基督，又不是以利亞，也不是那位神言人，那你為甚麼施洗呢？』

他們又問約翰：「你既不是基督，又不是以利亞，也不是那位先知，那麼，你為什麼施洗呢？」

復問之曰、爾非基督、非以利亞、非彼先知、胡為施洗耶、

又問曰、爾非基督非以利亞、非先知、何為施洗耶、

又問曰、爾非基督、非以利亞、非彼先知、何為施洗乎、

爰又問曰：『爾既非基督、又非伊理藹、亦非先知、則胡為授洗耶？』

questioned him,“ Why then do you baptize if you are not the Messiah, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”

asked him,“ If you are not the Messiah, why are you baptizing people? Why are you doing that if you aren’t Elijah or the Prophet we’ve been expecting?”

They asked him,“ Then why are you baptizing, if you are neither the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”

asked him,“ If you aren’t the Messiah or Elijah or the Prophet, what right do you have to baptize?”

So they asked him,“ Why then do you baptize if you aren’t the Messiah, or Elijah, or the Prophet?”

They asked him, and said to him,“ Why then are you baptizing, if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”

And they asked him, saying,“ Why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”

And they asked him, and said unto him, Why then baptizest thou, if thou art not the Christ, neither Elijah, neither the prophet?

So they asked him,“ Why then do you baptize if you aren’t the Messiah, or Elijah, or the Prophet?”

And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?

So they asked John,“ Why then are you baptizing if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”

They asked him,“ Why then do you baptize, if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the prophet?”

我要从他们的兄弟中间，给他们兴起一位先知，像你一样；我要把我的话放在他口里，他必把我吩咐他们的一切话都对他们说。

“耶和华你的神要从你中间，就是从你的众兄弟中间，给你兴起一位先知来，像我一样；你们要听从他。

约翰并不否认，坦白地承认说：“我不是基督。”他们又问：“那么你是谁？是以利亚吗？”他说：“我不是。”“是那位先知吗？”他回答：“不是。”于是他们再问：“你是谁？好让我们回覆派我们来的人。你说你自己是谁？”

耶稣进了圣殿，正在教导人的时候，祭司长和民间的长老前来问他：“你凭什么权柄作这些事？谁给你这权柄？”

“为你的同胞和你的圣城，已经定了七十个七，要结束过犯，终止罪恶，遮盖罪孽，引进永义，封住异象和预言，并且膏抹至圣所（“至圣所”或译：“至圣者”）。你要知道，也要明白，从发出命令恢复和重建耶路撒冷，直到受膏君的时候，必有七个七；又有六十二个七（“必有七个七；又有六十二个七”或译：“必有七个七和六十二个七”），耶路撒冷连广场和濠沟，都必重新建造起来；那是一段困苦的时期。六十二个七以后，受膏者必被剪除，一无所有（“一无所有”或译：“不再存在”）；那将要来的领袖的人民必毁灭这城和圣所。结局必像洪水而来；必有争战直到末了；荒凉的事已经定了。

“我们严厉地吩咐过你们，不准再奉这名教导。看，你们却把你们的道理传遍了耶路撒冷，想要把流这人的血的责任推到我们身上。”

第二天，犹太人的官长、长老、经学家，都聚集在耶路撒冷，还有大祭司亚那和该亚法、约翰、亚历山大，以及大祭司的家人，所有的人都在那里。他们叫使徒都站在当中，查问说：“你们凭什么能力，奉谁的名作这事？”
