孰為智者、克明斯事、耶和華與誰言、使之宣告、斯土何為被燬遭焚、有若曠野、無人經之、

誰為智者、能明此事、誰蒙主諭、能宣示國緣何而滅亡、地緣何而焚燬、成如沙漠、無人來往、

Who is wise enough to understand this? Who has been instructed by the Lord and can explain it? Why has the land been ruined and laid waste like a desert that no one can cross?

Who is wise enough to understand these things? Who has been taught by the Lord? Who can explain them? Why has the land been destroyed so completely? Why has it become like a desert that no one can go across?

Who is the man so wise that he can understand this? To whom has the mouth of the Lord spoken, that he may declare it? Why is the land ruined and laid waste like a wilderness, so that no one passes through?

Who is wise enough to understand all this? Who has been instructed by the Lord and can explain it to others? Why has the land been so ruined that no one dares to travel through it?

I said,“ Who is wise enough to understand why this has happened? Who has a word from the LORD that can explain it? Why does the land lie in ruins? Why is it as scorched as a desert through which no one travels?”

誰有智慧、可悉其情、孰具聰明、可知其道、耶和華之途、無不正、義人履之、罪人蹶焉。

凡百庶民、智慧是具、深窺斯理、必知耶和華之仁慈兮。

凡過此有名之殿宇、必駭異、作怨憤之聲。如有詢及者曰、耶和華毀此殿、害此國也、曷故。則必答曰、昔其上帝耶和華、導其列祖出於埃及、彼乃違逆、反簡他上帝、奉事崇拜、故耶和華降以是災。

爾以是告民、如詰爾云、我之上帝耶和華、我犯何罪、我蹈何愆、致耶和華降此鞠凶、爾則告之曰、耶和華云、因爾列祖、遐棄我躬、不守我法、乃從他上帝、俯伏崇拜。爾濟祖惡尤甚、各縱私欲、不遵我命、故我驅爾出斯土、至爾與爾祖所未識之國、在彼仍服事他上帝、晝夜不息、我因此不加矜恤。

偽先知同謀、若獅狂吼、斷傷人、吞噬人、得其珍寶、使邑中嫠婦不可勝數、祭司干犯律例、玩瀆聖物、聖與不聖、潔與不潔、不為剖別、我之安息日、不復恪守、棄我於民中、邑中之牧伯若狼、行其殘害、肆其吞噬、以獲不義之利。先知所見者、虛偽之異象、所占者無憑之卜筮、自謂傳耶和華之命、然我未嘗示之、若作垣墉、以不堅緻之泥塗之、斯土之民、虐遇人、強暴人、挾制貧乏、侮慢羈旅、我稽察之、欲得一人、可補藩籬、可塞垣隙、立於我前、代民祈求、免我殲滅、亦不可得。故震怒憤烈、降災於眾、視其所為而報之、我耶和華已言之矣。

如有詰先知者、謂我之上帝耶和華降災於我曷故。先知必曰、爾棄耶和華、在爾故土、崇事非爾之上帝、故必在非爾之地、從事異邦人。當告雅各家猶大族、

凡鄰國眾庶、經過是邑、互相告語、曰、耶和華罰此大邑、何為至於若斯。人必曰、斯民背其上帝耶和華之約、崇拜服事他上帝、故有此罰。

後世子孫、遠方賓旅、列邦眾庶、見此地之禍、暨耶和華所降之災、硫磺及鹽、焚燬徧地、不得耕耘、無物產、無草萊、如所多馬、蛾摩拉、押馬、西編、為耶和華所怒、而使之傾覆者、俱必問曰、耶和華降罰於斯土、何為至於如此、其烈怒之甚、又曷故乎。人必曰、昔導斯民出於埃及、其祖之上帝耶和華與之立約、斯民違其言、從他上帝而崇奉之、然他上帝彼所未識、耶和華亦未嘗姑聽其服事、故震怒斯民、以書所載之咒詛、加乎其身。耶和華怒甚烈、氣甚憤、拔其根株、驅逐於異邦、即以今日之事為證。

時日將至、聞其預言、讀其紀載、而守之者、必蒙福祉、○

願其有智而知此、思念厥終、

爾見其所為、知我降災、非出無因、則爾怨悉平、我耶和華已言之矣。
