Oh, that my head were a spring of water and my eyes a fountain of tears! I would weep day and night for the slain of my people.

如果你們因為驕傲而不肯聽，我會暗自哭泣、淚流滿面，因為耶和華的子民將要被擄。

所以，我說：「你們不要管我，讓我痛哭一場吧！不要安慰我，我的同胞都被毀滅了。」

百姓啊，你們要身披麻布，在灰中打滾；你們要悲傷痛哭，如喪獨子，因為毀滅者將突然臨到我們。

我哭得眼睛失明，心如刀割，肝膽欲碎，因為人民慘遭毀滅，兒童和嬰孩昏倒在街頭。

我淚流成河，因為人們不遵行你的律法。

同胞的創傷令我傷心欲絕，痛苦萬分，驚慌失措。難道基列沒有藥物、沒有醫生嗎？為什麼我同胞的創傷至今未癒？

因此，我像雅謝人一樣為西比瑪的葡萄樹哀哭。希實本和以利亞利啊，我用眼淚來澆灌你們，因為再無人為你們的果品和莊稼而歡呼了。

人子啊，你要在他們面前哀歎，要傷心欲絕地哀歎。如果有人問你為什麼哀歎，你就說有噩耗傳來，聽見的人都膽戰心驚、兩手發軟、精神萎靡、膝弱如水。災難必很快發生。這是主耶和華說的。」

「耶利米，你要對他們說，『讓我晝夜淚眼汪汪吧，因為我的同胞遭受重創，遍體鱗傷。

我不吃不喝，晝夜以淚洗面，人們整天譏笑我：「你的上帝在哪裡？」

錫安的城牆啊，你要從心裡向主呼求！你的眼淚要像江河一樣晝夜湧流，不歇不眠。你要在夜間起來，在主面前整夜呼求，向祂傾心吐意；你要為餓昏街頭的孩童向主舉手禱告。

因同胞被毀滅，我淚流成河。我的眼淚湧流不息，

我的心啊，我的心啊！我傷心欲絕，煩躁不安。我無法保持緘默，因為我聽見了號角聲和呐喊聲。
