然則耶路撒冷人恆背逆予、固執詭詐、不知悛改、曷故。

Why then have these people turned away? Why does Jerusalem always turn away? They cling to deceit; they refuse to return.

Then why have the people of Jerusalem turned away from me? Why do they always turn away? They keep on telling lies. They refuse to come back to me.

Why then has this people turned away in perpetual backsliding? They hold fast to deceit; they refuse to return.

Then why do these people stay on their self destructive path? Why do the people of Jerusalem refuse to turn back? They cling tightly to their lies and will not turn around.

Why have these people turned away? Why is Jerusalem always turning away? They take hold of deceit; they refuse to return.

Why has this people, Jerusalem, Turned away in continual apostasy? They hold on to deceit, They refuse to return.

Why has this people slidden back, Jerusalem, in a perpetual backsliding? They hold fast to deceit, They refuse to return.

Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return.

Why have these people turned away? Why is Jerusalem always turning away? They take hold of deceit; they refuse to return.

主諭先知曰、爾居詭詐人中、因詭詐不願識我、

主歟、主目顧誠實、主責之、彼不哀慟、彼不哀慟或作彼不覺痛幾乎殲滅之、彼仍不受教、彼顏堅於石、不肯歸誠、

惟彼不從、背逆頑梗、塞耳不聽、

彼如以灰為食、中心昏昧、入於迷途、不知自救、不自曰、我右手所作、悉屬虛妄、

其室中充以詐得之財、若籠之充以鳥、因而強盛富有、

彼惡者至、藉撒但之力、行一切虛偽之大能異跡奇事、及種種惑眾之邪惡、在將沈淪者之中、蓋彼眾不悅真理、且不受之而得救、故天主使其大謬、信從虛偽、使凡不信真理反悅不義者、悉被定罪、○

彼告先見曰、勿言未來之事、對得默示者曰、勿以正直為默示傳於我、當以柔媚之詞告我、以虛誕為默示傳於我、

我民當歸誠於我、乃游移不定、我民當歸誠於我乃游移不定或作我民專心背叛我先知勸之歸至上之主、無一人奮興、

爾不欲就我以得生、

慎勿棄語爾者、當時在地傳命者、彼眾棄之、不得免刑、況由天而言者、我儕背之、焉能免刑、

以色列族倔強、若倔強之牝牛、今主將牧之、若羊於廣闊之處、

惟爾曹所有者、當固守之、待及我來、

凡事省察、惟據於善、

處女豈忘其修飾乎、新婦豈忘其麗服乎、惟我民忘我、其日難計其日難計或作歷時已久矣、

如爾不願聽、反加忤逆、必為刃所殺、此乃主之口所言、

惟彼不從、不傾耳以聽、竟隨己謀、放縱惡念、剛愎自用、以背向我、不以面向我、自爾列祖出伊及之時、迄於今日、我屢屢原文作每日清晨遣我僕眾先知、以警教爾、竟不領命、不傾耳以聽、乃強厥項、行惡甚於其列祖、

執持訓誨、不可遺失、當恪守之、蓋此為爾之生命、

主又諭我曰、背叛之以色列、較悖逆之猶大猶顯為善、爾往北方、宣告此言曰、主云背叛之以色列歸哉、我不復向爾震奴、蓋我以矜憫為懷、不常含忿、此乃主所言、惟當自認罪愆、蓋爾違逆主爾之天主、奔馳歧途、在各茂樹下、崇拜他神、不聽我命、此乃主所言、主曰、爾曹忤逆之子、歸誠歟、因我乃爾之王、我必收爾歸我、自邑中一人、自族中二人、導至郇城、
