“ At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.Five of the virgins were foolish, and five were wise.When the foolish ones took their lamps, they did not take extra olive oil with them.But the wise ones took flasks of olive oil with their lamps.When the bridegroom was delayed a long time, they all became drowsy and fell asleep.But at midnight there was a shout,‘ Look, the bridegroom is here! The one who gathers crops in the summer is a wise son, but the one who sleeps during the harvest is a son who brings shame to himself.

Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, then you will stand outside and start to knock on the door and beg him,‘ Lord, let us in!’ But he will answer you,‘ I don’t know where you come from.’

Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says,“ Oh, that today you would listen as he speaks!“ Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, in the day of testing in the wilderness.“ There your fathers tested me and tried me, and they saw my works for forty years.“ Therefore, I became provoked at that generation and said,‘ Their hearts are always wandering and they have not known my ways.’“ As I swore in my anger,‘ They will never enter my rest!’”See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has an evil, unbelieving heart that forsakes the living God.But exhort one another each day, as long as it is called“ Today,” that none of you may become hardened by sin’s deception.For we have become partners with Christ, if in fact we hold our initial confidence firm until the end.As it says,“ Oh, that today you would listen as he speaks! Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”

They will demolish you– you and your children within your walls– and they will not leave within you one stone on top of another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation from God.”
