You who are my Comforter in sorrow, my heart is faint within me.

Lord, my heart is weak inside me. You comfort me when I’m sad.

My joy is gone; grief is upon me; my heart is sick within me.

My grief is beyond healing; my heart is broken.

My joy has flown away; grief has settled on me. My heart is sick.

My sorrow is beyond healing, My heart is faint within me!

The Lord has issued a decree against Jacob; his neighbors have become his enemies. Jerusalem has become like filthy garbage in their midst.צ( Tsade)

So I say:“ Don’t look at me! I am weeping bitterly. Don’t try to console me concerning the destruction of my defenseless people.”

Then one who appeared to be a human being was touching my lips. I opened my mouth and started to speak, saying to the one who was standing before me,“ Sir, due to the vision, anxiety has gripped me and I have no strength.How, sir, am I able to speak with you? My strength is gone, and I am breathless.”

If I say,“ My bed will comfort me, my couch will ease my complaint,”then you scare me with dreams and terrify me with visions,

I listened and my stomach churned; the sound made my lips quiver. My frame went limp, as if my bones were decaying, and I shook as I tried to walk. I long for the day of distress to come upon the people who attack us.

The people cry out,“ We have heard reports about them! We have become helpless with fear! Anguish grips us, agony like that of a woman giving birth to a baby!

And I cried out,“ We are doomed! Our wound is severe! We once thought,‘ This is only an illness. And we will be able to bear it!’But our tents have been destroyed. The ropes that held them in place have been ripped apart. Our children are gone and are not coming back. There is no survivor to put our tents back up, no one left to hang their tent curtains in place.For our leaders are stupid. They have not sought the LORD’s advice. So they do not act wisely, and the people they are responsible for have all been scattered.Listen! News is coming even now. The rumble of a great army is heard approaching from a land in the north. It is coming to turn the towns of Judah into rubble, places where only jackals live.
