When our enemy’s horses snort, the noise is heard all the way from the city of Dan. When their stallions neigh, the whole land trembles with fear. They have come to destroy the land and everything in it. The city and everyone who lives there will be destroyed.

The horses’ hooves pounded the ground; the stallions galloped madly.

They named it Dan after their ancestor, who was one of Israel’s sons. But the city’s name used to be Laish.

When the mountains see you, they shake. The torrential downpour sweeps through. The great deep shouts out; it lifts its hands high.

The chariot drivers will crack their whips; the chariot wheels will shake the ground; the chariot horses will gallop; the war chariots will bolt forward!

for the earth and its abundance are the Lord’s.

Vent your anger on the nations that do not acknowledge you. Vent it on the peoples who do not worship you. For they have destroyed the people of Jacob. They have completely destroyed them and left their homeland in utter ruin.

The LORD owns the earth and all it contains, the world and all who live in it.

Fathers will hear the hoofbeats of the enemies’ horses, the clatter of their chariots and the rumbling of their wheels. They will not turn back to save their children because they will be paralyzed with fear.

But if someone says to you,“ This is from a sacrifice,” do not eat, because of the one who told you and because of conscience–

He shouts a battle cry against the seaand makes it dry up; he makes all the rivers run dry. Bashan and Carmel wither; the blossom of Lebanon withers.The mountains tremble before him, the hills convulse; the earth is laid waste before him, the world and all its inhabitants are laid waste.

All the Israelites from Dan to Beer Sheba and from the land of Gilead left their homes and assembled together before the LORD at Mizpah.

For messengers are coming, heralding disaster, from the city of Dan and from the hills of Ephraim.They are saying,‘ Announce to the surrounding nations,“ The enemy is coming!” Proclaim this message to Jerusalem:“ Those who besiege cities are coming from a distant land. They are ready to raise the battle cry against the towns in Judah.”’

I looked at the mountains and saw that they were shaking. All the hills were swaying back and forth!

Its soldiers are armed with bows and spears. They are cruel and show no mercy. They sound like the roaring sea as they ride forth on their horses. Lined up in formation like men going into battle to attack you, Daughter Zion.’”
