我們為甚麼靜坐不動呢？聚集攏來哦，我們好進入有堡壘的城，在那裏寂滅掉；因為永恆主我們的上帝命定我們寂滅，將毒苦水給我們喝，因為我們犯罪得罪了永恆主。

我儕靜坐何為乎、其會集而入鞏固之邑、隕亡於彼、我上帝耶和華飲我以毒水、使我隕亡、緣我干犯耶和華也、

先知告民曰、我儕坐此曷故、必會眾入城、在彼默默無語、我獲罪於我之上帝耶和華、使我嘗膽、無詞可述。

Why are we sitting here? Gather together! Let us flee to the fortified cities and perish there! For the Lord our God has doomed us to perish and given us poisoned water to drink, because we have sinned against him.

Why are we sitting here? Let’s gather together! Let’s run to the cities that have high walls around them! Let’s die there! The Lord our God has sentenced us to death. He has given us poisoned water to drink. That’s because we’ve sinned against him.

“ Then the people will say,‘ Why should we wait here to die? Come, let’s go to the fortified towns and die there. For the Lord our God has decreed our destruction and has given us a cup of poison to drink because we sinned against the Lord.

The people say,“ Why are we just sitting here? Let us gather together inside the fortified cities. Let us at least die there fighting, since the LORD our God has condemned us to die. He has condemned us to drink the poison waters of judgment because we have sinned against him.

“ Why do we sit still? Assemble yourselves! Let’s enter into the fortified cities, and let’s be silent there; for Yahweh our God has put us to silence, and given us poisoned water to drink, because we have sinned against Yahweh.

因此，万军之耶和华论到先知如此说：“看哪，我必使他们吃茵陈，喝苦水；因为亵渎的事出于耶路撒冷的先知，遍及各地。”

所以万军之耶和华—以色列的上帝如此说：“看哪，我必将茵陈给这百姓吃，又用苦水给他们喝。

求你记得我的困苦和流离，它如茵陈和苦胆一般；

巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒上来攻打这地的时候，我们说：‘来吧，我们到耶路撒冷去，躲避迦勒底的军队和亚兰的军队。’这样，我们才住在耶路撒冷。”

大卫对亚比筛说：“现在比基利的儿子示巴对我们的危害恐怕比押沙龙更大。你要带领你主的一些仆人追赶他，免得他得了坚固的城镇，在我们眼前逃脱。”

他们拿苦胆给我当食物；我渴了，他们拿醋给我喝。

士兵拿苦胆调和的酒给耶稣喝。他尝了，不肯喝。

惟恐你们中间有人，或男或女，或宗族或支派，今日心里偏离耶和华—我们的上帝，去事奉那些国的神明，又怕你们中间有根长出苦菜和茵陈来。

你们要在犹大传扬，在耶路撒冷宣告，说：“当在国中吹角，高声呼叫说：‘你们当聚集！我们好进入坚固城！’应当向锡安竖立大旗。逃吧，不要迟延，因我必使灾祸与大毁灭从北方来到。

死人的叔伯要把尸首抬到屋外焚烧，就问房屋内间的人说：“你那里还有别人吗？”他说：“没有。”又说：“不要作声，不可提耶和华的名。”

于是，摩西对亚伦说：“这就是耶和华所吩咐的，说：‘我在那亲近我的人中要显为圣；在全体百姓面前，我要得着荣耀。’”亚伦就默默不言。

凡血肉之躯都当在耶和华面前静默无声，因为他从他的圣所奋起了。

人在年轻时负轭，这是好的。他当安静独坐，因为这是耶和华加在他身上的。

我默然无声，连好话也不出口，我的愁苦就更加深。

惟耶和华在他的圣殿中，全地都当在他面前肃静。

耶和华啊，我们承认自己的罪恶和我们祖先的罪孽，因我们得罪了你。

祭司要带那妇人站在耶和华面前，使她蓬头散发，再把纪念的素祭，就是疑忌的素祭，放在她的手掌，祭司手里捧着致诅咒的苦水。祭司要叫妇人起誓，对她说：‘若没有人与你同寝，若你未曾背着丈夫做污秽的事，你就能免去这致诅咒的苦水。但你背着丈夫，玷污自己，跟丈夫以外的人同寝。’祭司叫妇人赌咒起誓，祭司对她说：‘当耶和华使你大腿萎缩，肚腹肿胀时，愿耶和华使你在你百姓中成为诅咒和咒骂；愿这致诅咒的水进入你体内，使你肚腹肿胀，大腿萎缩。’妇人要说：‘阿们，阿们。’“祭司要把这诅咒写在册上，然后用苦水涂去，又叫妇人喝这致诅咒的苦水，这诅咒的水要进入她里面，令她痛苦。

他们的葡萄树是所多玛的葡萄树，是蛾摩拉田园所长的；他们的葡萄是毒葡萄，整串都是苦的。

在城门口有四个长麻风的人，他们彼此说：“我们为何坐在这里等死呢？我们若说要进城去，城里有饥荒，我们必死在那里。若我们在这里坐着不动，也必死。现在，来吧，我们去向亚兰人的军队投降。若他们饶我们的命，我们就活着；若杀我们，我们就死吧！”
