人述虛誕、無益於事、爾乃信之、

“可是，你们竟然倚靠虚谎无益的话。

「看哪，你們倚靠虛謊無益的話。

「看哪，你們倚靠虛謊無益的話語。

「看哪，你們倚靠虛謊無益的話語。

「『然而，你們竟相信那些空洞的謊言。

“可是，你們竟然倚靠虛謊無益的話。

『但是你看，你們竟然倚靠虛假的話無所受益。

惟爾恃無益之虛詞、

今爾信無益之虛詞、

But look, you are trusting in deceptive words that are worthless.

But look! You are trusting in worthless lies.

“ Behold, you trust in deceptive words to no avail.

“‘ Don’t be fooled into thinking that you will never suffer because the Temple is here. It’s a lie!

But look, you keep trusting in deceitful words that cannot help.

“ Behold, you are trusting in deceptive words to no avail.

“ Behold, you trust in lying words that cannot profit.

Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.

But look, you keep trusting in deceitful words that cannot help.

Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.

“‘ But just look at you! You are putting your confidence in a false belief that will not deliver you.

Behold, you trust in lying words that can’t profit.

爾曹自謂與死亡結約、與陰府訂盟、天降大雨、行潦汎濫、必不及於斯土、我惟誑詞是恃、而適以自欺。

彼所見者、虛偽之異象、所占者無憑之卜筮、自謂傳耶和華之命、然我未嘗示之、未嘗遣之、彼使人冀其言有應、是事豈不有之乎。

彼偽先知、從心所欲、普傳誕妄、伊於胡底。

耶和華曰、自尊達卑、貪婪無厭、先知祭司俱言詐偽、故其妻室必適他人、其田疇為他人所得、我使之然。

彼使先見者、毋庸明察、睹異象者、不以正道相勉、而以柔媚之詞相告、以虛誕之理相傳、

耶利米曰、主耶和華與、爾曾告耶路撒冷民曰、可得平康。今反飲刃、害及生命、言既不應、寧非欺予。

耶路撒冷之先知、更堪痛疾、行淫詭譎、俾作惡者流、厥志孔強、不悛厥行、予鑒察之、視若所多馬蛾摩拉之人無異。萬有之主耶和華曰耶路撒冷先知、導民行惡、殆遍斯土、我使之茹茶飲酖、萬有之主耶和華曰、惟彼先知、擅自而言、不傳我命、彼乃欺爾、爾勿聽從。

又曰、凡先知未奉我命、託言有夢、傳之於人、以厥妄誕、使民舛謬、有損於眾者、我必降罰。

有言虛誕者、三稱耶和華殿為可恃、爾勿信之。

先知傳虛詞、祭司隨聲附和、國民以此為悅、將若之何。

耶利米曰、主耶和華與、諸偽先知曾告斯民、必不飲刃、不受饑、安居斯土、永獲平康、出於耶和華所賜。耶和華曰、維彼先知、託我之名、普傳妄誕、我未嘗遣之、亦未嘗降諭、彼所言者、虛偽之異象、無憑之卜筮、中心所思之幻境。
