Do not trust in deceptive words and say,“ This is the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord!”

有言虛誕者、三稱耶和華殿為可恃、爾勿信之。

有人曰、主之殿、主之殿、主之殿在此、可望不遭災、此言虛誕、爾勿信信或作恃之、

Do not trust in lies. Do not say,‘ This is the temple of the Lord! This is the temple of the Lord! This is the temple of the Lord!’

Do not trust in these deceptive words:‘ This is the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord.’

But don’t be fooled by those who promise you safety simply because the Lord’s Temple is here. They chant,“ The Lord’s Temple is here! The Lord’s Temple is here!”

Do not trust deceitful words, chanting,“ This is the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD.”

Do not trust in deceptive words, saying,‘ This is the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord.’

Do not trust in these lying words, saying,‘ The temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord are these.’

Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of Jehovah, the temple of Jehovah, the temple of Jehovah, are these.

Do not trust deceitful words, chanting: This is the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord.

Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD,[ are] these.

Stop putting your confidence in the false belief that says,“ We are safe! The temple of the LORD is here! The temple of the LORD is here! The temple of the LORD is here!”

Don’t trust in lying words, saying,‘ Yahweh’s temple, Yahweh’s temple, Yahweh’s temple, are these.’

Her leaders judge for a bribe, her priests teach for a price, and her prophets tell fortunes for money. Yet they look for the Lord’s support and say,“ Is not the Lord among us? No disaster will come upon us.”

And do not think you can say to yourselves,‘ We have Abraham as our father.’ I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.

On that day you, Jerusalem, will not be put to shame for all the wrongs you have done to me, because I will remove from you your arrogant boasters. Never again will you be haughty on my holy hill.

“ Send this message to all the exiles:‘ This is what the Lord says about Shemaiah the Nehelamite: Because Shemaiah has prophesied to you, even though I did not send him, and has persuaded you to trust in lies,

You have profaned me among my people for a few handfuls of barley and scraps of bread. By lying to my people, who listen to lies, you have killed those who should not have died and have spared those who should not live.

But look, you are trusting in deceptive words that are worthless.“‘ Will you steal and murder, commit adultery and perjury, burn incense to Baal and follow other gods you have not known,and then come and stand before me in this house, which bears my Name, and say,“ We are safe”— safe to do all these detestable things?Has this house, which bears my Name, become a den of robbers to you? But I have been watching! declares the Lord.“‘ Go now to the place in Shiloh where I first made a dwelling for my Name, and see what I did to it because of the wickedness of my people Israel.

Then the prophet Jeremiah said to Hananiah the prophet,“ Listen, Hananiah! The Lord has not sent you, yet you have persuaded this nation to trust in lies.

When the soldiers returned to camp, the elders of Israel asked,“ Why did the Lord bring defeat on us today before the Philistines? Let us bring the ark of the Lord’s covenant from Shiloh, so that he may go with us and save us from the hand of our enemies.”So the people sent men to Shiloh, and they brought back the ark of the covenant of the Lord Almighty, who is enthroned between the cherubim. And Eli’s two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.

Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves,‘ We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.

For they have done outrageous things in Israel; they have committed adultery with their neighbors’ wives, and in my name they have uttered lies— which I did not authorize. I know it and am a witness to it,” declares the Lord.
