Therefore say to them,‘ This is the nation that has not obeyed the Lord its God or responded to correction. Truth has perished; it has vanished from their lips.

So say to them,‘ You are a nation that has not obeyed the Lord your God. You did not pay attention when you were corrected. Truth has died out. You do not tell the truth anymore.’ ”

And you shall say to them,‘ This is the nation that did not obey the voice of the Lord their God, and did not accept discipline; truth has perished; it is cut off from their lips.

Say to them,‘ This is the nation whose people will not obey the Lord their God and who refuse to be taught. Truth has vanished from among them; it is no longer heard on their lips.

Therefore, declare to them,‘ This is the nation that would not listen to the LORD their God and would not accept discipline. Truth has perished— it has disappeared from their mouths.

And you shall say to them,‘ This is the nation that did not obey the voice of the Lord their God or accept discipline; trustworthiness has perished and has been eliminated from their mouth.

“ So you shall say to them,‘ This is a nation that does not obey the voice of the Lord their God nor receive correction. Truth has perished and has been cut off from their mouth.

And thou shalt say unto them, This is the nation that hath not hearkened to the voice of Jehovah their God, nor received instruction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.

You must therefore declare to them: This is the nation that would not listen to the voice of the Lord their God and would not accept discipline. Truth has perished— it has disappeared from their mouths.

But thou shalt say unto them, This[ is] a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the LORD their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.

So tell them:‘ This is a nation that has not obeyed the LORD their God and has not accepted correction. Faithfulness is nowhere to be found in it. These people do not even profess it anymore.

You shall tell them,‘ This is the nation that has not listened to Yahweh their God’s voice, nor received instruction. Truth has perished, and is cut off from their mouth.’

So justice is driven back, and righteousness stands at a distance; truth has stumbled in the streets, honesty cannot enter.Truth is nowhere to be found, and whoever shuns evil becomes a prey. The Lord looked and was displeased that there was no justice. (niv)

Woe to the sinful nation, a people whose guilt is great, a brood of evildoers, children given to corruption! They have forsaken the Lord; they have spurned the Holy One of Israel and turned their backs on him.Why should you be beaten anymore? Why do you persist in rebellion? Your whole head is injured, your whole heart afflicted. (niv)

They turned their backs to me and not their faces; though I taught them again and again, they would not listen or respond to discipline. (niv)

She obeys no one, she accepts no correction. She does not trust in the Lord, she does not draw near to her God. (niv)

Lord, do not your eyes look for truth? You struck them, but they felt no pain; you crushed them, but they refused correction. They made their faces harder than stone and refused to repent. (niv)

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. (niv)

Hear the word of the Lord, you Israelites, because the Lord has a charge to bring against you who live in the land:“ There is no faithfulness, no love, no acknowledgment of God in the land. (niv)

You hate my instruction and cast my words behind you. (niv)

The bellows blow fiercely to burn away the lead with fire, but the refining goes on in vain; the wicked are not purged out.They are called rejected silver, because the Lord has rejected them.” (niv)

Take warning, Jerusalem, or I will turn away from you and make your land desolate so no one can live in it.” (niv)

“ Go up and down the streets of Jerusalem, look around and consider, search through her squares. If you can find but one person who deals honestly and seeks the truth, I will forgive this city. (niv)

“ In vain I punished your people; they did not respond to correction. Your sword has devoured your prophets like a ravenous lion. (niv)

Of Jerusalem I thought,‘ Surely you will fear me and accept correction!’ Then her place of refuge would not be destroyed, nor all my punishments come upon her. But they were still eager to act corruptly in all they did. (niv)

The faithful have been swept from the land; not one upright person remains. Everyone lies in wait to shed blood; they hunt each other with nets.Both hands are skilled in doing evil; the ruler demands gifts, the judge accepts bribes, the powerful dictate what they desire— they all conspire together.The best of them is like a brier, the most upright worse than a thorn hedge. The day God visits you has come, the day your watchmen sound the alarm. Now is the time of your confusion.Do not trust a neighbor; put no confidence in a friend. Even with the woman who lies in your embrace guard the words of your lips. (niv)

“ They make ready their tongue like a bow, to shoot lies; it is not by truth that they triumph in the land. They go from one sin to another; they do not acknowledge me,” declares the Lord.“ Beware of your friends; do not trust anyone in your clan. For every one of them is a deceiver, and every friend a slanderer.Friend deceives friend, and no one speaks the truth. They have taught their tongues to lie; they weary themselves with sinning.You live in the midst of deception; in their deceit they refuse to acknowledge me,” declares the Lord.Therefore this is what the Lord Almighty says:“ See, I will refine and test them, for what else can I do because of the sin of my people?Their tongue is a deadly arrow; it speaks deceitfully. With their mouths they all speak cordially to their neighbors, but in their hearts they set traps for them. (niv)
