耶利米啊，你將這番話告訴他們，他們也不會聽；你向他們呼籲，他們也不會回應。

『你要將這一切話告訴他們，雖則他們不聽從；你要呼喚他們，儘管他們不應；

爾將告以斯言、惟彼不聽、爾將呼之、惟彼不應、

上帝告先知曰、爾雖有命、民不聽從、爾雖招徠、民不應命。

爾耶利米以此言告之、彼仍不聽爾、爾招之來、彼仍不應爾、

“ When you tell them all this, they will not listen to you; when you call to them, they will not answer.

“ Jeremiah, when you tell them all this, they will not listen to you. When you call out to them, they will not answer.

“ So you shall speak all these words to them, but they will not listen to you. You shall call to them, but they will not answer you.

“ Tell them all this, but do not expect them to listen. Shout out your warnings, but do not expect them to respond.

“ When you speak all these things to them, they will not listen to you. When you call to them, they will not answer you.

“ So you shall speak all these words to them, but they will not listen to you; and you shall call to them, but they will not answer you.

“ Therefore you shall speak all these words to them, but they will not obey you. You shall also call to them, but they will not answer you.

And thou shalt speak all these words unto them; but they will not hearken to thee: thou shalt also call unto them; but they will not answer thee.

“ When you speak all these things to them, they will not listen to you. When you call to them, they will not answer you.

Therefore thou shalt speak all these words unto them; but they will not hearken to thee: thou shalt also call unto them; but they will not answer thee.

Then the LORD said to me,“ When you tell them all this, they will not listen to you. When you call out to them, they will not respond to you.

“ You shall speak all these words to them, but they will not listen to you. You shall also call to them, but they will not answer you.

“耶和華這樣說：‘你要站在耶和華殿的院子裡，對來自猶大各城，到耶和華殿敬拜的人，把我吩咐你對他們說的一切話，一字不漏告訴他們。

耶和華對我說：“你不要說：‘我年輕’，因為無論我差你到誰那裡，你都要去；無論我吩咐你說甚麼，你都要說。

我曾呼喚他們，他們不聽；照樣，將來他們呼求我，我也不聽。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。

我要命定你們歸在刀下，你們眾人都要屈身被殺；因為我呼喚，你們不回答；我說話，你們都不聽。反倒行我眼中看為惡的事，揀選我不喜悅的事。”

為甚麼我來的時候，沒有人在呢？為甚麼我呼喚的時候，沒有人答應呢？難道我的手太軟弱不能救贖嗎？或是我沒有能力拯救嗎？看哪！我以斥責使海乾涸，我使江河變成曠野，江河的魚因無水發臭，因乾渴而死。

他說：“你去告訴這子民，說：‘你們聽了又聽，卻不明白；看了又看，卻不曉得。’你要使這子民的心思遲鈍（“遲鈍”直譯是“蒙脂油”），耳朵不靈，眼睛昏暗，免得他們眼睛看見，耳朵聽見，心裡明白，回轉過來，得到醫治。”

這人民十分頑固，心裡剛硬，我差派你到他們那裡去。你要對他們說：‘主耶和華這樣說。’他們或聽或不聽（他們原是叛逆的民族），也必知道在他們中間有一位先知。“人子啊！至於你，雖然荊棘和蒺藜在你周圍，你又住在蠍子群中，你不要怕他們，也不要怕他們講的話。他們原是叛逆的民族，你總不要怕他們講的話，在他們面前，也不要驚惶。他們或聽或不聽，你只要把我的話告訴他們，他們原是叛逆的。

“人子啊，我立了你作以色列家守望的人，所以你要聆聽我口中的話，替我警告他們。如果我對惡人說：‘你必定死亡！’你卻不警告他，也不警戒他離開惡行，好救他的性命，這惡人就必因自己的罪孽死亡。但我要因他的死追究你。

因為神的全部計劃，我已經毫無保留地傳給你們了。

他對我說：“人子啊，你去！到以色列家那裡，把我的話告訴他們。你受差派不是到一個說話難明、言語難懂的民族那裡去，而是到以色列家去；不是到說話難明、言語難懂的眾多民族那裡去，他們的話是你聽不懂的。但是，如果我差派你到他們那裡去，他們必聽從你。以色列家卻不肯聽從你，因為他們不肯聽從我，整個以色列家都是額堅心硬的。看哪！我要使你的臉像他們的臉一樣堅硬，使你的前額像他們的前額一樣堅硬。我要使你的額好像最堅硬的寶石，比火石更硬。他們雖然是叛逆的民族，你卻不要怕他們，在他們面前，也不要驚惶。”他又對我說：“人子啊！我對你說的一切話，你都要留心聽，記在心裡。你去，到被擄的人民那裡，向他們宣講；他們或聽或不聽，你只要對他們說：‘主耶和華這樣說。’”

他們必攻擊你，卻不能勝過你，因為我與你同在，要拯救你。”這是耶和華的宣告。
