While you were doing all these things, declares the Lord, I spoke to you again and again, but you did not listen; I called you, but you did not answer.

我要使你們註定被殺，喪身刀下。因為我呼喚你們，你們不回應；我講話，你們不聆聽。你們做我視為惡的事，專行令我不悅的事。」

從你們的祖先離開埃及那天起，一直到今天，我日復一日地差遣我的僕人——眾先知到你們那裡，

他們祖先的上帝耶和華因為憐愛祂的子民和祂的居所，就不斷派使者來勸告他們。他們卻嘲弄耶和華上帝的使者，藐視祂的話，嘲笑祂的先知，以致祂的憤怒臨到祂的子民身上，無可挽救。

我再三差遣我的僕人——眾先知勸你們改邪歸正，不要追隨、祭拜別的神明，以便你們可以在我賜給你們和你們祖先的土地上安居樂業，你們卻充耳不聞，毫不理會。

為什麼我來的時候一個人也不在？為什麼我呼喚的時候沒有人回答？是我的臂膀太短不能救贖你們嗎？是我沒有能力拯救你們嗎？看啊，我斥責一聲，海就乾了；我使江河變為曠野，魚類因無水而乾死，發出腥臭。

你警告他們，要使他們遵守你的律法，但他們行事狂傲，不聽從你的誡命，干犯你的典章。人若遵行這典章就必存活，但他們背棄你，頑固不化，不肯聽從。你多年來容忍他們，差遣你的靈藉著你的眾先知警告他們，但他們依然不肯聽從，於是你把他們交在列邦手中。

我必重重地懲罰他們，使他們遭遇自己害怕的事。因為我呼喚，無人回應；我講話，無人聆聽。他們做我視為惡的事，專行令我不悅的事。」

我的子民執意離我而去，他們雖然求告至高的我，我也不會拯救他們。

因此，以色列的上帝——萬軍之耶和華說，我要給猶大和耶路撒冷的居民降下我說過的災禍。因為我對他們說話，他們不聽；我呼喚他們，他們不理會。』」

「從猶大王亞們的兒子約西亞執政第十三年，到今天已有二十三年。在這期間，我不斷把耶和華對我說的話傳給你們，你們卻充耳不聞。

可是，我越召喚他們，他們就跑得越遠，給巴力獻祭，向偶像燒香。

因為自從我把你們祖先從埃及領出來的那天起，一直到今天，我一再勸誡他們要聽從我的話。

祂說，『我曾呼喚他們，他們不聽；將來他們呼求我，我也不聽。

「耶路撒冷啊！耶路撒冷啊！你常殺害先知，又用石頭打死派到你那裡的使者。我多次想要招聚你的兒女，像母雞將小雞聚集在翅膀底下，可是你們卻不肯。

我屢次差遣我的僕人——眾先知警告他們不要再做令我深惡痛絕的事，
