Do not go out to the fields or walk on the roads, for the enemy has a sword, and there is terror on every side.

我听见许多人毁谤我，惊恐笼罩着我。他们图谋不轨，谋害我的性命。

我听见许多人窃窃私语：“看那个说‘四面有恐怖’的人，我们告发他！告发他！”我的好友都盼着我灭亡，说：“或许他会受骗，那样我们便能打倒他，一泄心头之恨。”

恐惧四面笼罩着他，步步紧追着他。

他们说：“我们为什么还坐在这里？大家一起进入坚城，死在那里吧！我们的上帝耶和华要毁灭我们，给我们毒药喝，因为我们得罪了祂。

“你们要在犹大和耶路撒冷宣告，‘要在全国吹起号角’，高声呼喊，‘要集合起来，我们要逃进坚城。’

第二天，他释放了耶利米，耶利米对他说：“耶和华不再叫你巴施户珥，要叫你玛歌珥·米撒毕。因为耶和华说，‘我要使你和你的朋友都惊慌失措，让你亲眼看见你的朋友死在敌人刀下；我要把犹大人都交在巴比伦王手中，使他们或被杀或被掳到巴比伦；

在亚拿的儿子珊迦与雅亿的时代，大路行人绝迹，旅客绕道而行。我底波拉做以色列之母以前，以色列的乡村人烟稀少。

我说：“唉！主耶和华啊，你完全欺骗了这群百姓和耶路撒冷人，因为你说，‘你们会安享太平。’其实剑锋已指着他们的咽喉了。”

那时，人们出入不得平安，因为各地都有动乱。

因为有一天敌人要在你周围筑起壁垒把你团团围住，四面攻击你。

如果你们执意叛逆，就必丧身刀下。”这是耶和华亲口说的。
