人將曳爾妻子、見迦勒底人、爾亦不能脫其手、必為巴比倫王所獲、斯邑必焚以火、皆爾自取。

爾曰、必馳馬以前驅、主必使爾猝然以避敵、爾又曰、必乘馬而疾馳、主必使追爾者、馳騁而至、有一人以驅逐、則爾之千軍皆遁、有五人以追襲、則爾之全師俱奔、即有孑遺、如山巔孤竹、如嶺上單旌。

追予之人、捷於飛鷹、襲予於山巔、設伏於曠野兮。耶和華所沐以膏、我所賴以得生、至異邦中、望其庇蔭者、今陷於坎阱兮。

主立於壇側、我觀之、聞其詞曰、擊柱頂、震門橛、俱當損毀、壓於眾首、眾之子孫、我必加誅戮、逃匿者無人、得免者無人、雖入陰府、我必取之、雖升天堂、我將降之、雖匿於加密之巔、我將搜而出之、雖藏於大海之底、我必使蛇嚙之、雖為敵所擄、我必使刃殺之、我恆鑒察、爾惟加以災害、不加以福祉、

迦勒底人帥師、追及之、於耶利哥平原執之、解至哈末地之立拉、以見巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒、請彼定擬。

君將負荷、乘夜而出、鑿壁以遁、行必蒙面、不得見其地、我張網羅、罹之於中、曳至迦勒底之巴比倫、雖死於彼、亦不得見其地。彼之左右、爰及軍旅、我必散之於四方、襲之以白刃、

耶利米又奏西底家王曰、我未嘗得罪於王臣百姓、下我於獄曷故、

疾趨者不得避難、強勁者其力廢弛、有能者不能自救、執弓者不能禦敵、捷足者不得免禍、乘馬者不得救援、

罹之以網羅、陷之以坎阱、曳至巴比倫、在彼降災、以罰其罪、彼及流亡之眾、爰及軍旅、必殞於刃、遺民星散、使知我耶和華已言之矣。
