It was because of the Lord’s anger that all this happened to Jerusalem and Judah, and in the end he thrust them from his presence. Now Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

The enemies of Jerusalem and Judah attacked them because the Lord was angry. In the end he threw them out of his land. Zedekiah refused to obey the king of Babylon.

For because of the anger of the Lord it came to the point in Jerusalem and Judah that he cast them out from his presence. And Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

These things happened because of the Lord’s anger against the people of Jerusalem and Judah, until he finally banished them from his presence and sent them into exile. Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

Because of the LORD’s anger, it came to the point in Jerusalem and Judah that he finally banished them from his presence. Then Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

尼布甲尼撒王曾經使他指著神起誓，他還是背叛了尼布甲尼撒；他頑固執拗，不肯歸向耶和華以色列的神。

我必使孩童作他們的領袖，使嬰孩管轄他們。人民必互相壓迫，人欺壓人，也欺壓自己的鄰舍；年輕人要欺凌老年人，卑賤人必欺凌尊貴人。

看哪！主萬軍之耶和華，快要從耶路撒冷和猶大，除掉人所倚靠的和所倚賴的，就是眾人所倚靠的糧，眾人所倚賴的水；

我必把埃及人交在殘暴的主人手中；兇猛的君王要管轄他們；這是主萬軍之耶和華說的。

耶和華你的神是應當稱頌的！他喜悅你，使你坐在以色列的王位上；因為耶和華永遠喜愛以色列，所以立你作王，要你秉行公義。”

“你要對那叛逆的民族說：‘你們不知道這些事是甚麼意思嗎？’你要告訴他們：‘看哪！巴比倫王曾到耶路撒冷來，把其中的王和眾領袖擄去，帶他們到巴比倫那裡去。他從以色列王室後裔中選出一人，與他立約，叫他起誓，並且把國中那些有勢力的人擄去，使國衰微，不能再興盛，唯有謹守條約他才可以繼續存在。可是這人背叛了巴比倫王，差遣使者到埃及去，要得戰馬和大軍。他能亨通嗎？行這樣事的人，怎能逃脫呢？他破壞條約，怎能逃脫呢？我指著我的永生起誓：他藐視了自己所起的誓，背棄了與王所立的約，因此他必死在巴比倫，就是那立他作王的巴比倫王的國家。這是耶和華的宣告。敵人建造圍城的高牆，築起攻城土壘要剪除多人的時候，法老率領大軍和大隊人馬，還是不能幫助他作戰。他藐視誓言，背棄條約；他已宣誓效忠，卻又行了這一切事，所以他必不能逃脫。因此主耶和華這樣說：我指著我的永生起誓：他既然藐視我的誓言，背棄我的約，我必使這罪歸到他的頭上。我要把我的網撒在他身上，他必在我的網羅中被捕獲；我要把他帶到巴比倫去，並且要在那裡因他對我不忠的罪審判他。他軍中所有的精兵（按照《馬索拉文本》，“精兵”作“逃跑的人”；現參照其他抄本、《七十士譯本》和其他古譯本翻譯），都必倒在刀下；剩下的也必分散到四方；你們就知道說這話的是我耶和華。

國家因有過犯，領袖就經常更換；依賴聰明知識俱備的人，國家才可以長存。

耶和華又向以色列人發怒，就激動大衛，使他們受害，說：“你去數點一下以色列和猶大的人數吧！”

邦國啊，如果你的王是個孩童，而你的大臣又一早吃喝宴樂，你就有禍了。
