Jeremiah had written on a scroll about all the disasters that would come upon Babylon— all that had been recorded concerning Babylon.

Jeremiah had written about all the trouble that would come on Babylon. He had written it down on a scroll. It included everything that had been recorded about Babylon.

耶和華回答我，說：將這默示清楚地寫在看板上，使人容易朗讀。因為這默示有一定的日期，論及終局，絕不落空。它雖然躭延，你要等候；因為它必臨到，不再遲延

於是，耶利米又取一書卷交給尼利亞的兒子巴錄文士，他就從耶利米的口中寫了猶大王約雅敬在火中所燒書卷上的一切話，另外又添了許多相仿的話。

現在你要去，在他們面前將這話刻在版上，寫在書上，以便流傳後世，直到永永遠遠。

「耶和華－以色列的上帝如此說：你要將我對你說過的一切話都寫在書上。看哪，日子將到，我要使我的百姓以色列和猶大被擄的人歸回。這是耶和華說的。耶和華說：我要使他們回到我所賜給他們祖先之地，他們就得這地為業。」

「你要取一書卷，把我對你所說攻擊以色列和猶大，並各國的一切話，從我對你說話的那日，就是從約西亞的日子起直到今日，都寫在其上；或者猶大家聽見我想要降給他們的一切災禍，各人就回轉離開惡道，我就赦免他們的罪孽和罪惡。」耶利米召了尼利亞的兒子巴錄來；巴錄就從耶利米口中，把耶和華對耶利米所說的一切話寫在書卷上。

所以，你要把所看見的事、現在的事和以後將發生的事，都寫下來。

耶和華對我說：「你取一塊大板子，拿人的筆，寫上『瑪黑珥‧沙拉勒‧哈施‧罷斯』。我要用可靠的證人，烏利亞祭司和耶比利家的兒子撒迦利亞為我作證。」我親近女先知；她就懷孕生子，耶和華對我說：「給他起名叫瑪黑珥‧沙拉勒‧哈施‧罷斯；因為在這孩子還不曉得叫爸爸媽媽以前，大馬士革的財寶和撒瑪利亞的擄物必被亞述王掠奪一空。」

但以理啊，你要隱藏這話，封閉這書，直到末時。必有許多人往來奔跑，知識就必增長。」

說：「把你所看見的寫在書上，寄給以弗所、士每拿、別迦摩、推雅推喇、撒狄、非拉鐵非、老底嘉那七個教會。」
