Jeremiah had written on a scroll about all the disasters that would come upon Babylon— all that had been recorded concerning Babylon.

耶和华对我说：“将我的启示记下来，清楚地刻在版上，便于人们阅读。这启示实现的日期还没到，它是关于末后的事，没有虚假。即使缓慢，也要等候，因为这事终必发生，不再迟延。

于是，耶利米又拿了一个卷轴，交给尼利亚的儿子书记巴录，他按耶利米的口述，把犹大王约雅敬烧毁的那卷轴上的话都记下来，还增添了许多类似的话。

耶和华对我说：“现在，你去当着他们的面把这些话刻在版上，记在书卷上，永远留给后世作明证。

“以下是以色列的上帝耶和华的话，你要把我对你说的话写在书卷上。耶和华说，‘看啊，时候将到，我要使我被掳的子民——以色列人和犹大人回到故土，回到我赐给他们祖先的土地上。这是耶和华说的。’”

“你拿一个卷轴来，把从约西亚登基直到现在我告诉你有关以色列、犹大和各国的事都写在上面。或许犹大人听了我打算要降给他们的灾祸，便改邪归正，我就赦免他们的过犯和罪恶。”耶利米就叫来尼利亚的儿子巴录。巴录按耶利米的口述把耶和华的话写在卷轴上，

所以，你要将所看见的一切——现在和将来要发生的事都记录下来。

耶和华对我说：“你去拿块大的写字板，用通用的文字在上面写上‘玛黑珥·沙拉勒·哈施·罢斯’。我会吩咐忠信的祭司乌利亚和耶比利迦的儿子撒迦利亚为这事做见证。”我以赛亚与妻子同房，她就怀孕生了个儿子。耶和华对我说：“给他取名叫玛黑珥·沙拉勒·哈施·罢斯。因为这孩子会叫父亲母亲之前，亚述王必把大马士革的财富和撒玛利亚的战利品洗劫一空。”

但以理啊，这些话要保密，要把这书封起来，直到末了。许多人必四处探究，因而知识必增多。”

“把你所看见的写在书上，然后送给以弗所、士每拿、别迦摩、推雅推喇、撒狄、非拉铁非和老底嘉七间教会。”
