Get out of Babylonia quickly, you foreign people. Flee to save your lives. Do not let yourselves be killed because of her sins. For it is time for the LORD to wreak his revenge. He will pay Babylonia back for what she has done.

“ Flee from Babylon! Run for your lives! Do not be destroyed because of her sins. It is time for the Lord’s vengeance; he will repay her what she deserves.

“ People of Judah, run away from Babylon! Run for your lives! Do not be destroyed because of the sins of its people. It is time for me to pay them back. I will punish them for what they have done.

“ Flee from the midst of Babylon; let every one save his life! Be not cut off in her punishment, for this is the time of the Lord’s vengeance, the repayment he is rendering her.

Flee from Babylon! Save yourselves! Don’t get trapped in her punishment! It is the Lord’s time for vengeance; he will repay her in full.

Leave Babylon; save your lives, each of you! Don’t perish because of her guilt. For this is the time of the LORD’s vengeance— he will pay her what she deserves.

Flee from the midst of Babylon, And each of you save his life! Do not perish in her punishment, For this is the Lord’s time of vengeance; He is going to repay to her what she deserves.

“ People of Judah, get out of Babylon quickly! Leave the land of Babylonia! Be the first to depart! Be like the male goats that lead the herd.

Shout the battle cry from all around the city. She will throw up her hands in surrender. Her towers will fall. Her walls will be torn down. Because I, the LORD, am wreaking revenge, take out your vengeance on her! Do to her as she has done!

Listen! Fugitives and refugees are coming from the land of Babylon. They are coming to Zion to declare there how the LORD our God is getting revenge, getting revenge for what they have done to his temple.

For many nations and great kings will make slaves of the king of Babylon and his nation too. I will repay them for all they have done!’”

“ Get out of Babylon, my people! Flee to save your lives from the fierce anger of the LORD!

And he said to the community,“ Move away from the tents of these wicked men, and do not touch anything they have, lest you be destroyed because of all their sins.”

You who have escaped the sword, go, do not delay. Remember the LORD in a faraway land. Think about Jerusalem.

“ You there! Flee from the northland!” says the LORD,“ for like the four winds of heaven I have scattered you,” says the LORD.“ Escape, Zion, you who live among the Babylonians!”

The great city was split into three parts and the cities of the nations collapsed. So Babylon the great was remembered before God, and was given the cup filled with the wine made of God’s furious wrath.

“ Listen! I am opposed to you, you proud city,” says the Lord GOD who rules over all.“ Indeed, your day of reckoning has come, the time when I will punish you.

Foreigners living there will say,‘ We tried to heal her, but she could not be healed. Let’s leave Babylonia and each go back to his own country. For judgment on her will be vast in its proportions. It will be like it is piled up to heaven, stacked up into the clouds.’

Leave Babylon! Flee from the Babylonians! Announce it with a shout of joy! Make this known! Proclaim it throughout the earth! Say,‘ The LORD protects his servant Jacob.

“ Sharpen your arrows! Fill your quivers! The LORD will arouse a spirit of hostility in the kings of Media. For he intends to destroy Babylonia. For that is how the LORD will get his revenge– how he will get his revenge for the Babylonians’ destruction of his temple.

I will sharpen my lightning- like sword, and my hand will grasp hold of the weapon of judgment; I will execute vengeance on my foes, and repay those who hate me!

The sword will make people childless outside, and terror will do so inside; they will destroy both the young man and the virgin, the infant and the gray-haired man.

Do not lay hands on anyone hastily and so identify with the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.

All nations must serve him and his son and grandson until the time comes for his own nation to fall. Then many nations and great kings will in turn subjugate Babylon.

But that day belongs to the Lord God who rules over all. It is the day when he will pay back his enemies. His sword will devour them until its appetite is satisfied! It will drink their blood until it is full! For the Lord GOD who rules over all will offer them up as a sacrifice in the land of the north by the Euphrates River.

Cry out, O nations, with his people, for he will avenge his servants’ blood; he will take vengeance against his enemies, and make atonement for his land and people.

The one who associates with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.

Then I heard another voice from heaven saying,“ Come out of her, my people, so you will not take part in her sins and so you will not receive her plagues,because her sins have piled up all the way to heaven and God has remembered her crimes.Repay her the same way she repaid others; pay her back double corresponding to her deeds. In the cup she mixed, mix double the amount for her.

At dawn the angels hurried Lot along, saying,“ Get going! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or else you will be destroyed when the city is judged!”When Lot hesitated, the men grabbed his hand and the hands of his wife and two daughters because the LORD had compassion on them. They led them away and placed them outside the city.When they had brought them outside, they said,“ Run for your lives! Don’t look behind you or stop anywhere in the valley! Escape to the mountains or you will be destroyed!”

When they have drunk it, they will stagger to and fro and act insane. For I will send wars sweeping through them.”
