For the time will surely come when I will punish the idols of Babylon; her whole land will be disgraced and her slain will all lie fallen within her.

I will punish the gods of Babylon. That time will certainly come. Then the whole land will be full of shame. Its people will lie down and die there.

“ Therefore, behold, the days are coming when I will punish the images of Babylon; her whole land shall be put to shame, and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her.

For the time is surely coming when I will punish this great city and all her idols. Her whole land will be disgraced, and her dead will lie in the streets.

Therefore, look, the days are coming when I will punish Babylon’s carved images. Her entire land will suffer shame, and all her slain will lie fallen within her.

當播告宣示於列邦、樹立旌旗、宣示勿隱、曰、巴比倫已陷、彼勒抱愧、米羅達見折、巴比倫之神像被辱、諸偶像見折、

主曰、時日將至、我必降災於巴比倫之偶像、使巴比倫地、徧有受傷者咨嗟歎息、

彼勒顛蹶、尼波傾仆、其像為獸為畜所負、爾素所舁者、必載於困憊之牲畜、彼皆傾仆顛蹶、不能救所負之像、乃見擄掠、

有人乘車而至、有乘馬者雙雙而來、大聲呼曰、巴比倫傾覆矣、傾覆矣、其諸神之偶像、擊碎而擲之於地、

主曰、刃臨於迦勒底人、與巴比倫居民、及其牧伯哲士、刃臨於占卜之人、使之愚拙、刃臨於英武之士、使之畏怯、刃臨於巴比倫駿馬戰車、及其中客兵、俱膽怯如婦女、刃臨其寶藏、悉被攘奪、巴比倫諸水、皆遭旱乾而涸、因巴比倫為敬偶像之地、崇事偶像、狂妄自榮、故野獸野獸或作野貓豺狼豺狼或作野犬同巢其中、鴕鳥亦棲於彼、必永無居民、世世無人居處、主曰、昔所多瑪、俄摩拉、及其鄰邑、為我天主所傾覆、巴比倫亦必若是、無人居於彼、無人旅於彼、

悉屬虛無、迷妄者所作、受罰之時、俱必滅亡、

七十年之期既畢、我降罰於巴比倫王與迦勒底民、治其罪戾、使迦勒底土地永為荒蕪、此乃主所言、

主曰、巴比倫人及迦勒底居民、在郇邑所行之諸惡、我必報復、使爾目睹、或作主曰巴比倫人及迦勒底居民於爾目前在郇所行諸惡我必報之

爾素視為良友者、倘主使彼為首以轄爾、爾尚有何言、爾豈非如婦臨產、痛苦難堪、

巴比倫諸邑荒蕪、變為旱乾之沙漠、無人居處、無人經歷、

爾母恥甚、生爾者含羞、列國結局、終必荒蕪、為旱乾之地、成為沙漠、因主震怒、巴比倫永無人居、盡為荒蕪、凡過之者、見其諸災、必驚異哂笑、凡爾張弓者、當圍巴比倫、列陣以射之、勿惜其矢、因巴比倫獲罪於主、當在巴比倫四圍鼓譟而攻、彼已投降、其基址已傾、其墻垣已毀、此乃主之復仇、當向之復仇、視其所為而待之、視其所為而待之原文作循其所行而行於彼當在巴比倫、絕播種者、與穡時執鐮者、因殘賊者之鋒刃、所集於巴比倫者、各歸本族、各奔故土、
