Babylon’s warriors have stopped fighting; they remain in their strongholds. Their strength is exhausted; they have become weaklings. Her dwellings are set on fire; the bars of her gates are broken.

Her mightiest warriors no longer fight. They stay in their barracks, their courage gone. They have become like women. The invaders have burned the houses and broken down the city gates.

看哪，你中間的士兵是婦女，你國中的關口向仇敵敞開，你的門閂被火焚燒。

錫安的門陷入地裏，主毀壞，折斷她的門閂。她的君王和官長都置身列國中，沒有律法；她的先知也不再從耶和華領受異象。

有刀劍臨到矜誇的人，他們就變為愚昧；有刀劍臨到它的勇士，他們就驚惶。有刀劍臨到它的馬匹、戰車，和其中混居的各族，他們變成與婦女一樣；有刀劍臨到它的寶物，寶物就被搶奪。

因此，人的手都變軟弱，人的心都必惶惶。他們必驚恐，悲痛和愁苦將他們抓住。他們陣痛，好像臨產的婦人一樣，彼此驚奇對看，臉如火焰。

心中勇敢的人都被掠奪；他們睡了長覺，沒有一個英雄能措手。

到那日，埃及必像婦人一樣，因萬軍之耶和華揮手攻擊而戰兢懼怕。

耶和華對所膏的居魯士如此說，他的右手我曾攙扶，使列國降服在他面前，列王的腰帶我曾鬆開，使城門在他面前敞開，不得關閉：「我要在你前面行，修平崎嶇之地。我必打破銅門，砍斷鐵閂。

我要折斷大馬士革的門閂，剪除亞文平原的居民和伯‧伊甸的掌權者，亞蘭人必被擄到吉珥。」這是耶和華說的。

因為他堅固了你的門閂，賜福給你中間的兒女。

渡口被佔據了，蘆葦被火焚燒，戰士都驚慌。

加略被攻取，堡壘也被佔據。到那日，摩押的勇士心中疼痛如臨產的婦人。

因為他打破了銅門，砍斷了鐵閂。

因怕她的痛苦，就遠遠地站着，說：「禍哉，禍哉，這大城！堅固的巴比倫城啊！一時之間，你的審判要來到了。」

我必使巴比倫的領袖、智慧人、省長、官員和勇士都喝醉，使他們永遠沉睡，不再醒起。這是名為萬軍之耶和華的君王說的。
