The LORD, who is the portion of the descendants of Jacob, is not like them. For he is the one who created everything, including the people of Israel whom he claims as his own. He is known as the LORD who rules over all.

He who is the Portion of Jacob is not like these, for he is the Maker of all things, including the people of his inheritance— the Lord Almighty is his name.

But I, the God of Jacob, am not like them. I give my people everything they need. I can do this because I made everything, including Israel. They are the people who belong to me. My name is the Lord Who Rules Over All.

Not like these is he who is the portion of Jacob, for he is the one who formed all things, and Israel is the tribe of his inheritance; the Lord of hosts is his name.

But the God of Israel is no idol! He is the Creator of everything that exists, including his people, his own special possession. The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is his name!

My flesh and my heart may grow weak, but God always protects my heart and gives me stability.

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people of his own, so that you may proclaim the virtues of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Indeed, the LORD has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel to be his special possession.

“ My portion is the Lord,” I have said to myself, so I will put my hope in him.ט( Tet)

“ People of Babylonia, you plundered my people. That made you happy and glad. You frolic about like calves in a pasture. Your joyous sounds are like the neighs of a stallion.

Our God is in heaven! He does whatever he pleases!

How blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has chosen to be his special possession.

“ I will abandon my nation. I will forsake the people I call my own. I will turn my beloved people over to the power of their enemies.The people I call my own have turned on me like a lion in the forest. They have roared defiantly at me. So I will treat them as though I hate them.The people I call my own attack me like birds of prey or like hyenas. But other birds of prey are all around them. Let all the nations gather together like wild beasts. Let them come and destroy these people I call my own.Many foreign rulers will ruin the land where I planted my people. They will trample all over my chosen land. They will turn my beautiful land into a desolate wasteland.

says our protector– the LORD who commands armies is his name, the Holy One of Israel.

Remember your people whom you acquired in ancient times, whom you rescued so they could be your very own nation, as well as Mount Zion, where you dwell!

And now, if you will diligently listen to me and keep my covenant, then you will be my special possession out of all the nations, for all the earth is mine,and you will be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words that you will speak to the Israelites.”

LORD, you give me stability and prosperity; you make my future secure.

For the LORD’s allotment is his people, Jacob is his special possession.
