自從造天地以來，上帝的永能和神性是明明可知的，雖然眼不能見，但藉着所造之物就可以了解看見，叫人無可推諉。

耶和華以能力創造大地，以智慧建立世界，以聰明鋪張穹蒼。他一出聲，天上就有眾水澎湃；他使雲霧從地極上騰，造電隨雨而閃，從倉庫中吹出風來。人人都如同畜牲，毫無知識；銀匠都因偶像羞愧，他所鑄的偶像本是虛假，它們裏面並無氣息。偶像都是虛無的，是迷惑人的作品，到受罰的時刻必被除滅。雅各所得的福分不是這樣，因主是那創造萬有的，以色列是他產業的支派，萬軍之耶和華是他的名。

『唉！主耶和華，看哪，你曾用大能和伸出來的膀臂創造天和地，在你沒有難成的事。

耶和華以智慧奠立地基，以聰明鋪設諸天，

披上亮光，如披外袍，鋪張穹蒼，如鋪幔子，

「我們的主，我們的上帝，你配得榮耀、尊貴、權柄，因為你創造了萬物，萬物因你的旨意被創造而存在。」

以雅各的上帝為幫助、仰望耶和華－他上帝的，這人有福了！耶和華造天、地、海和其中的萬物，他守信實，直到永遠。

「諸位，為甚麼做這些事呢？我們也是人，性情和你們一樣。我們傳福音給你們，是要你們離棄這些虛妄的事，歸向那創造天、地、海和其中萬物的永生的上帝。

我親手立了地的根基，以右手鋪張諸天；我一召喚，天地就都立定。

稱謝那用智慧造天的，因他的慈愛永遠長存。

卻忘記鋪張諸天、立定地基、造你的耶和華？你因欺壓者圖謀毀滅所發的暴怒，終日害怕，其實那欺壓者的暴怒在哪裏呢？

他一出令，狂風捲起，波浪翻騰。

深哉，上帝的豐富、智慧和知識！他的判斷何其難測！他的蹤跡何其難尋！

那創造諸天，鋪張穹蒼，鋪開地與地的出產，賜氣息給地上眾人，賜生命給行走其上之人的上帝耶和華如此說：

末世，藉着他兒子向我們說話，又立他為承受萬有的，也藉着他創造宇宙。他是上帝榮耀的光輝，是上帝本體的真像，常用他大能的命令托住萬有。他洗淨了人的罪，就坐在高天至大者的右邊。

我造大地，又創造人在地上。我親手鋪張諸天，天上萬象也是我所任命的。

他是創造宇宙和其中萬物的上帝；他既是天地的主，就不住在人手所造的殿宇裏，

從你在母腹中就造了你，你的救贖主－耶和華如此說：「我－耶和華創造萬物，獨自鋪張諸天，親自展開大地；

耶和華啊，你所造的何其多！都是你用智慧造成的，全地遍滿了你所造之物。

因為萬有都是在他裏面造的，無論是天上的、地上的，能看見的、不能看見的，或是有權位的、統治的，或是執政的、掌權的，一概都是藉着他為着他造的。他在萬有之先；萬有也靠他而存在。

你們要向上舉目，看是誰創造這萬象，按數目領出它們，一一稱其名，以他的權能和他的大能大力，使它們一個都不缺。

上帝坐在地的穹窿之上，地上的居民有如蚱蜢。他鋪張穹蒼如幔子，展開諸天如可住的帳棚。

哈利路亞！你們要從天上讚美耶和華，在高處讚美他！他的眾使者啊，要讚美他！他的諸軍啊，都要讚美他！太陽月亮啊，要讚美他！放光的星宿啊，都要讚美他！天上的天和天上的水啊，你們都要讚美他！願這些都讚美耶和華的名！因他一吩咐就都造成。

起初，上帝創造天地。地是空虛混沌，深淵上面一片黑暗；上帝的靈運行在水面上。上帝說：「要有光」，就有了光。上帝看光是好的，於是上帝就把光和暗分開。上帝稱光為「晝」，稱暗為「夜」。有晚上，有早晨，這是第一日。上帝說：「眾水之間要有穹蒼，把水和水分開。」
