看哪！我要激起米底亞人來攻擊他們。米底亞人不重視銀子，也不喜愛金子；他們的弓箭必把少年人射爛，他們不憐憫婦人腹中的胎兒，他們的眼也不顧惜小孩。

我從起初就宣告末後的事，從古時就宣告尚未成就的事。我說：『我的籌算必成立，我所喜悅的一切，我都必成就。』我要把猛禽從東方召來，把成就我籌算的人從遙遠之地召來。我已經說出，就必定使之實現；我計劃了，就必定實行。

勇士啊，當把刀劍在腿上束好，帶著你的尊榮和威嚴！

你們全都聚集來聽，假神中誰曾宣告過這些事？耶和華所愛的那位，必行耶和華所喜悅的事對付巴比倫——他的膀臂對付迦勒底人。我親自說了，我也召喚了他；我把他帶來，他必在自己的道路上興盛。

當他一看見駢馬的戰車、騎驢子的、騎駱駝的，就要特別留心，多多注意。」後來，守望者呼喊：「主啊，我白天一直站在守望臺，每夜立在我的哨所，看哪，駕駢馬戰車的軍兵來了！」有人應聲說：「傾倒了！巴比倫傾倒了！巴比倫神明的一切雕像都被打碎在地了！」
