“ Armies of Babylon, prepare for battle. Attack a nation that feels secure. Its people do not have any worries,” announces the Lord.“ That nation does not have gates or bars that lock them. Its people live far from danger.

“起来！上去攻打那安逸无虑的国家（这是耶和华的宣告）；这国没有城门，也没有门闩；他们是独自居住的。

“ Arise and attack a nation at ease, which lives in confidence,” declares the Lord,“ a nation that has neither gates nor bars; its people live far from danger.

“ Rise up, advance against a nation at ease, that dwells securely, declares the Lord, that has no gates or bars, that dwells alone.

“ Go up and attack that complacent nation,” says the Lord.“ Its people live alone in the desert without walls or gates.

Rise up, attack a nation at ease, one living in security. This is the LORD’s declaration. They have no doors, not even a gate bar; they live alone.

Arise, go up against a nation which is at ease, Which lives securely,” declares the Lord.“ It has no gates or bars; They dwell alone.

“ Arise, go up to the wealthy nation that dwells securely,” says the Lord,“ Which has neither gates nor bars, Dwelling alone.

Arise, get you up unto a nation that is at ease, that dwelleth without care, saith Jehovah; that have neither gates nor bars, that dwell alone.

Rise up, go up against a nation at ease, one living in security. This is the Lord’s declaration. They have no doors, not even a gate bar; they live alone.

Arise, get you up unto the wealthy nation, that dwelleth without care, saith the LORD, which have neither gates nor bars,[ which] dwell alone.

The LORD says,“ Army of Babylon, go and attack a nation that lives in peace and security. They have no gates or walls to protect them. They live all alone.

Arise! Go up to a nation that is at ease, that dwells without care,” says Yahweh;“ that has neither gates nor bars, that dwells alone.

You will say,‘ I will march out against a land whose villages don’t have walls around them. I’ll attack those peaceful people. I’ll do this when they aren’t expecting it. None of their villages has walls or gates with metal bars on them.

I see them from the rocky peaks. I view them from the hills. I see a group of people who live by themselves. They don’t consider themselves to be one of the nations.

So Israel will live in safety. Jacob will live secure in a land that has grain and fresh wine. There the heavens drop their dew.

“ So listen, you who love pleasure. You think you are safe and secure. You say to yourself,‘ I am like a god. No one is greater than I am. I’ll never be a widow. And my children will never be taken away from me.’

Lord, be like a shepherd to your people. Take good care of them. They are your flock. They live by themselves in the safety of a forest. Rich grasslands are all around them. Let them eat grass in Bashan and Gilead just as they did long ago.

We have had to put up with a lot from those who are proud. They were always laughing at us.

“ Moab has been at peace and rest from its earliest days. It is like wine that has not been shaken up. It has not been poured from one jar to another. Moab’s people have not been taken away from their land. They are like wine that tastes as it always did. Its smell has not changed at all.

“ At that time I will send messengers out in ships. They will terrify the people of Cush who are so contented. Cush will suffer greatly when Egypt falls. And you can be sure it will fall.”

The people of Dan took what Micah had made. They also took his priest. They continued on their way to Laish. They went there to fight against a people who were at peace and secure. The people of Dan struck them down with their swords. They burned down their city.No one could save those people and their city. They lived a long way from Sidon. And they didn’t think they would ever need help from anyone else. Their city was located in a valley near Beth Rehob. The people of Dan rebuilt the city. Then they made their homes there.

So tremble, you contented women. Tremble with fear, you who feel so secure. Take off your fine clothes. Wrap yourselves in rags.

You women who are so contented, pay attention to me. You who feel so secure, listen to what I have to say.

So the five men left. They came to Laish. There they saw that the people felt secure. They were living in safety. Like the people in Sidon, they were at peace. Their land had everything they needed. Things were going very well for them. They lived a long way from the people of Sidon. And they didn’t think they would ever need help from anyone else.The men returned to Zorah and Eshtaol. Their people asked them,“ What did you find out?”They answered,“ Come on! Let’s attack them! We’ve seen the land, and it is very good. Aren’t you going to do something? Don’t wait any longer. Go there and take it over.When you get there, you will find people who aren’t expecting anything bad to happen to them. Their land has plenty of room. God has handed it over to you. It’s a land that has everything you will ever need.”

“ I will send fire on the land of Magog. It will burn up the people who live in safety on the coast. So they will know that I am the Lord.

The Lord says,“ His army has many soldiers. Other nations are helping them. But they will be destroyed and pass away. Judah, I punished you. But I will not do it anymore.

Nineveh was a carefree city. It lived in safety. It said to itself,“ I am the one! No one is greater than I am.” But it has been destroyed. Wild animals make their home there. All those who pass by laugh and shake their fists at it.
