爾居巖穴、據山巔者、自以為可畏、心傲而自欺、爾縱若鷹巢於高處、我必取爾、自彼而降、耶和華言之矣、

爾居山巖、險隘、危迫之地、心志倨傲、至於自迷、爾巢雖高、譬彼神鷹、我耶和華必使爾降為卑。

爾居巖穴、據守山巔、自以為可畏、心志狂傲以自昧、雖爾如鷹結巢於高處、我必自彼使爾降落、此乃主所言、

The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.

They were given to you on the day you were created.I ordained and anointed you as the mighty angelic guardian. You had access to the holy mountain of God and walked among the stones of fire.“ You were blameless in all you did from the day you were created until the day evil was found in you.Your rich commerce led you to violence, and you sinned. So I banished you in disgrace from the mountain of God. I expelled you, O mighty guardian, from your place among the stones of fire.Your heart was filled with pride because of all your beauty. So I threw you to the ground and exposed you to the curious gaze of kings.You defiled your sanctuaries with your many sins and your dishonest trade. But you are a tower of refuge to the poor, O Lord, a tower of refuge to the needy in distress. You are a refuge from the storm and a shelter from the heat. For the oppressive acts of ruthless people are like a storm beating against a wall,or like the relentless heat of the desert. But you silence the roar of foreign nations. As the shade of a cloud cools relentless heat, so the boastful songs of ruthless people are stilled.
