毁灭来到；他们求平安，却没有平安。灾害加上灾害，风声接连风声；他们要向先知寻求异象，但祭司的教诲、长老的谋略都必断绝。

你们也将听见打仗和打仗的风声。注意，不要惊慌！因为这些事必须发生，但这还不是终结。

你们要在境内竖立大旗，在列邦中吹角，使列邦预备攻击巴比伦。要招集亚拉腊、米尼、亚实基拿各国前来攻击它，派将军攻击它，使马匹上来如粗暴的蝗虫；使列邦和玛代君王，省长和官员，他们所管的全地，都预备攻击它。

你们要磨尖箭头，抓住盾牌。论到巴比伦，耶和华定意要毁灭它，所以激起玛代君王的心；这是耶和华报仇，为他的圣殿报仇。

差遣使者在水面上，坐蒲草船过海。你们这些疾行的使者，要到高大光滑的民那里去；那民远近都畏惧，是强大好征服的国，土地有河流穿过。世上所有的居民，住在地上的人哪，山上大旗竖起时，你们要看，号角吹响时，你们要听。

看哪，因为我必惊动他的心，他要听见风声就归回本地，在那里我必使他倒在刀下。’”

你们要在荒凉的山上竖立大旗，向他们扬声，挥手招呼他们进入贵族之门。我吩咐我所分别为圣的人，召唤我的勇士，就是我那狂喜高傲的人，为要执行我的怒气。
