彼於我前、自負不凡、故必降罰、若醉以酒、至於哇吐、顛躓不起、為人訕笑。

摩押狂妄自大、違悖主、當使之沈醉、輾轉哇吐、被人訕笑、

“ Make her drunk, for she has defied the Lord. Let Moab wallow in her vomit; let her be an object of ridicule.

“ Moab’s people think they are better than I am. So let their enemies make them drunk. Let the people get sick and throw up. Let them roll around in the mess they have made. Let people laugh at them.

“ Make him drunk, because he magnified himself against the Lord, so that Moab shall wallow in his vomit, and he too shall be held in derision.

“ Let him stagger and fall like a drunkard, for he has rebelled against the Lord. Moab will wallow in his own vomit, ridiculed by all.

Pause and wonder! Blind yourselves and be blind! They are drunk, but not with wine; They stagger, but not with intoxicating drink.

“ They shall wail:‘ How she is broken down! How Moab has turned her back with shame!’ So Moab shall be a derision And a dismay to all those about her.”

And Pharaoh said,“ Who is the Lord, that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the Lord, nor will I let Israel go.”

I have trodden down the peoples in My anger, Made them drunk in My fury, And brought down their strength to the earth.”

You have shown Your people hard things; You have made us drink the wine of confusion.

He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision.

For thus says the Lord God of Israel to me:“ Take this wine cup of fury from My hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send you, to drink it.And they will drink and stagger and go mad because of the sword that I will send among them.”Then I took the cup from the LORD’s hand, and made all the nations drink, to whom the Lord had sent me:

“ I have heard the reproach of Moab, And the insults of the people of Ammon, With which they have reproached My people, And made arrogant threats against their borders.Therefore, as I live,” Says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel,“ Surely Moab shall be like Sodom, And the people of Ammon like Gomorrah— Overrun with weeds and saltpits, And a perpetual desolation. The residue of My people shall plunder them, And the remnant of My people shall possess them.”This they shall have for their pride, Because they have reproached and made arrogant threats Against the people of the Lord of hosts.

Shall the ax boast itself against him who chops with it? Or shall the saw exalt itself against him who saws with it? As if a rod could wield itself against those who lift it up, Or as if a staff could lift up, as if it were not wood!

For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup, And the wine is red; It is fully mixed, and He pours it out; Surely its dregs shall all the wicked of the earth Drain and drink down.

But You, O Lord, shall laugh at them; You shall have all the nations in derision.

“ Then the king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done.

God is wise in heart and mighty in strength. Who has hardened himself against Him and prospered?

You have walked in the way of your sister; therefore I will put her cup in your hand.’“ Thus says the Lord GOD:‘ You shall drink of your sister’s cup, The deep and wide one; You shall be laughed to scorn And held in derision; It contains much.You will be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, The cup of horror and desolation, The cup of your sister Samaria.You shall drink and drain it, You shall break its shards, And tear at your own breasts; For I have spoken,’ Says the Lord GOD.

You are filled with shame instead of glory. You also— drink! And be exposed as uncircumcised! The cup of the LORD’s right hand will be turned against you, And utter shame will be on your glory.

who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

“ Therefore you shall say to them,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel:“ Drink, be drunk, and vomit! Fall and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.”’And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup from your hand to drink, then you shall say to them,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts:“ You shall certainly drink!For behold, I begin to bring calamity on the city which is called by My name, and should you be utterly unpunished? You shall not be unpunished, for I will call for a sword on all the inhabitants of the earth,” says the Lord of hosts.’

You also will be drunk; You will be hidden; You also will seek refuge from the enemy.

Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.

“ They have heard that I sigh, But no one comforts me. All my enemies have heard of my trouble; They are glad that You have done it. Bring on the day You have announced, That they may become like me.

As yet you exalt yourself against My people in that you will not let them go.

He even exalted himself as high as the Prince of the host; and by him the daily sacrifices were taken away, and the place of His sanctuary was cast down.Because of transgression, an army was given over to the horn to oppose the daily sacrifices; and he cast truth down to the ground. He did all this and prospered.

Awake, awake! Stand up, O Jerusalem, You who have drunk at the hand of the Lord The cup of His fury; You have drunk the dregs of the cup of trembling, And drained it out.

“ And I will make drunk Her princes and wise men, Her governors, her deputies, and her mighty men. And they shall sleep a perpetual sleep And not awake,” says the King, Whose name is the Lord of hosts.
