For the Lord has avenged you this day of all those who rose against you.”And the king said to the Cushite,“ Is the young man Absalom safe?” So the Cushite answered,“ May the enemies of my Lord the king, and all who rise against you to do harm, be like that young man!”

And David said to him,“ Where have you come from?” So he said to him,“ I have escaped from the camp of Israel.”Then David said to him,“ How did the matter go? Please tell me.” And he answered,“ The people have fled from the battle, many of the people are fallen and dead, and Saul and Jonathan his son are dead also.”

and Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who dwelt in Aroer, as far as Nebo and Baal Meon.

And they crossed over the Jordan and camped in Aroer, on the right side of the town which is in the midst of the ravine of Gad, and toward Jazer.
