你們怎麼說：「我們是勇士，是會打仗的壯士」呢？

摩押人啊，你們怎能自稱為驍勇善戰的英雄呢？

你們怎麼說：‘我們是勇士，是善戰的武士’？

『你們怎麼說：「我們是勇士，是有力氣能爭戰的人」？

爾曹奚曰、我乃壯士、有勇戰鬥、

豈可自誇、有能之士、善於戰鬥。

爾曹焉可曰、我儕乃英武有能之士、善於戰爭、

“ How can you say,‘ We are warriors, men valiant in battle’?

“ How can you say,‘ We are soldiers. We are men who are brave in battle’?

“ How do you say,‘ We are heroes and mighty men of war’?

“ You used to boast,‘ We are heroes, mighty men of war.’

How can you say,“ We are warriors— valiant men for battle”?

How can you say,‘ We are warriors, And men competent for battle’?

How say ye, We are mighty men, and valiant men for the war?

How can you say,“ We are warriors— mighty men ready for battle”?

How say ye, We[ are] mighty and strong men for the war?

How can you men of Moab say,‘ We are heroes, men who are mighty in battle?’

“ How do you say,‘ We are mighty men, and valiant men for the war?’

No king is saved by the multitude of an army; A mighty man is not delivered by great strength.

For he says:“ By the strength of my hand I have done it, And by my wisdom, for I am prudent; Also I have removed the boundaries of the people, And have robbed their treasuries; So I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man.

Therefore the Lord, the Lord of hosts, Will send leanness among his fat ones; And under his glory He will kindle a burning Like the burning of a fire.

We have heard of the pride of Moab— He is very proud— Of his haughtiness and his pride and his wrath; But his lies shall not be so.

This they shall have for their pride, Because they have reproached and made arrogant threats Against the people of the Lord of hosts.

I returned and saw under the sun that— The race is not to the swift, Nor the battle to the strong, Nor bread to the wise, Nor riches to men of understanding, Nor favor to men of skill; But time and chance happen to them all.

Thus says the Lord:“ Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches;

Your fierceness has deceived you, The pride of your heart, O you who dwell in the clefts of the rock, Who hold the height of the hill! Though you make your nest as high as the eagle, I will bring you down from there,” says the Lord.

Then the Rabshakeh said to them,“ Say now to Hezekiah,‘ Thus says the great king, the king of Assyria:“ What confidence is this in which you trust?I say you speak of having plans and power for war; but they are mere words. Now in whom do you trust, that you rebel against me?

In the Lord I put my trust; How can you say to my soul,“ Flee as a bird to your mountain”?

“ How can you say,‘ We are wise, And the law of the Lord is with us’? Look, the false pen of the scribe certainly works falsehood.

‘ Thus says the Lord:“ Those who uphold Egypt shall fall, And the pride of her power shall come down. From Migdol to Syene Those within her shall fall by the sword,” Says the Lord GOD.
